No rain for us. I had 67 kids which is pretty good for our small town. I had a bag of DumDums left which were put away for the school Christmas goodie bags.I may have ripped into a bag of Cheetos I bought for the trick or treaters.
Only 10 so far, it is pouring. One with a clear Micky Poncho.
It is suppose to stop raining when our trick or treat hours come to an end.![]()
I know!My god people.... Ten pages to read during my break and I was on this morning
I add diced potatoes to my broccoli cheese soup sometimes.I really like yukons too. Still a dollop of sour cream or butter lands on mine when baked. I also have started to put them in stews and some soups, adds a nice flavor to both.
That's Ok I was laughing this morning and my ds asked what did @MR FERRET do this time.My classmates are probably wondering why I am snickering...(don't worry, class hasn't begun yet)
Just for good measure, @figmentfan423
I'm thinking some of the girls in my ds' school are a little too friendlytechnically.. wild animals are more friendly than your average teenager.
I almost forgot to post this. I have about 20 more dolls MIB packed away and four more boxes of assorted stuff. I need more shelves. My mom came in my room to help me put up some pictures and to reorganize my Disney dolls. We have the weirdest conversations
Me: The way you've arranged those dolls, Prince Phillip looks like a play-a.
Mom: *rearranges* Okay, now Prince Phillip is no longer a play-a
Me: Mmm, maybe you should move Barbie as Princess Bride? That way Phillip doesn't look like he's marrying Barbie but keeping Aurora as a concubine.
Mom: In what way do Princesses go with Orioles bobbleheads?
Me: They're the princes. Also, I couldn't figure out where else to put them.
Me: When I was a kid, I always wanted to know why the Barbie dolls never had underwear.
Mom: Well, you know women didn't always wear underwear.
Me: But I still wondered about my more modern Barbies. Like, we wear underwear, why didn't they?
Mom:...you are very strange.
I love everything you said, I absolutely love the GK and DD and her hubby. But, those expectations are so much higher. When hubby and I go we never have a plan, except maybe one ride in each park, for the day ....maybe two if it turns out not to be crowded. We don't do sit downs, generally I love the old style of touring, go where you want do what you want, and never stress about "missing" something. I figure I can do that in the future, and if the future doesn't come , I'm not going to be here to stress over that. You'll have a great time as long as you expect to see huge crowds. Prepare mentally ahead of time and you'll be fine. Plan your ADRs as far in advance as you can, and be flexible---- If a park is packed to the gills, leave and go somewhere else. If you're flexible you can still have a blast, just never let yourself get too hungry and take a time out if you're feeling irritated. It's actually easier to have fun during crowded times when you go without kids. Kids have expectations. You've made promises. It's harder to change your mind and your plan than if it's just you and hubby. If it's just you two there's no one to disappoint so you can just switch gears at will. Very relaxing.
We will do our best, but you know @MR FERRET, is very unpredictable! Have a good night @figmentfan423. Sweet dreams, sweets for the sweet. xoxoGood night all, I have lots to get done around here. Somebody please get @MR FERRET back on his meds and back into his cage!
I so wish I could have cheese, I've always loved cheese, back in the day when I hadn't been tested for lactose. The "fake" stuff just isn't the same, but I put similar spices on it to make up for the taste, pizza, pizza spice. Or just leave it off all together. It's easier that way!Decades in the restaurant business has taught me you never know if you'll like it if you don't try it. The kitchen is a home experiment lab.
I just had a salad with iceberg lettuce, arugula, radishes, carrots, red cabbage, extra blue cheese crumbles, bacon bits, blue cheese dressing, and asiago ciabatta cubes.![]()
Let us know about UNI, as I have never gone there. We are still trying to decide what to do on our 50th anniversary.THNX we're thinking about a super quick trip maybe 3 days down there. Mostly qs for food at the resorts. I never saw the lights and there is no way to get down this yearMaybe even a run over to UNI for a day just to check out what they do for the holidays.
My husband's firm closed financially at the end of Dec. so no one was allowed Christmas Vacation. My family always really had fun at Christmas, I missed all those celebrations, except my Mom and Dad's 50 anniversary. It's been a while but, I still have ill feelings toward his workplace, this requirement to stay at work was up until the last few years, and my family Mom and Dad were gone when they gave in to Dec vacations. I know it's water under the bridge, but I don't feel good about it. Fast forward, we made the best of it. We went out driving around to look at Christmas lights, went to Candlelight church services, and slept in late on Christmas. My DD was always a late sleeper, even Santa couldn't get her or hubby up. Gave me time to fix a nice big brunch. All things work out in the end! These are always such tricky issues. I know what you mean, exactly.
We live hours away from our family, which is actually quite helpful at Christmas. We don't have visitors at that time. Instead we visit with family before and after. Our focus is on our little family and I make very few plans. We do what we feel like when we feel like it and just go with the flow. It makes things so much more enjoyable. The first year we informed people we would not be traveling or accepting visitors was a big deal but they got over it.
As far as the negative people, I have been slowly and subtly been cutting negative people out of my life. I know we can all have negative moments and I don't meant that we have to plaster on a grin during the bad times. I'm talking about those people who are negative and destructive 90% of the time.
I try things a least 5 times, before I decide I don't like it. Okay sometimes, many times. I hated all olives growing up, now I go to them for a snack.Decades in the restaurant business has taught me you never know if you'll like it if you don't try it. The kitchen is a home experiment lab.

I agree, they went all out for the referb. I like the feel of the place already, except it' so busy. Hubby thinks it might turn into a 5th gate. What do you think?Me too. If not this year in years to come. That area is going to be so pleasant once it's all finished.
I initially read that as, "I hope they decorate in spring for the holidays." As in Christmas in all.
To which I was like:

I'll only accept it, when it's fake!DS went with his marching band just after Christmas for three days (This was a few years back). He still talks about how they made it snow. He was just like, I just got out of cold and snow, I don't want to see it in FL. He's his mother's boy.
Me too, it's usually day two. I quit trying to give it up. It is supposed to clear the mind for elderly, and I agree. At this age, what do I have to lose? Just, and aside...my dad drank coffee from very young age, ate lots of chocolate, and lived until 95 he had a rough upbringing as his mother died early from high blood pressure. So I do what he did, in moderation, one cup of coffee per day, I ounce of dark chocolate every other day. I'm protecting my "health"?I get mine at the end of day 1 or on day 2....
The best to you. Keep on plugging away.way better than before, but still need to heal more.
