I must need more sleep because the first thing I thought of when I saw this was it an arm or a leg ala @MR FERRET

Long day and I am exhausted, but we had a great time at the craft fair. DD made a wish jar necklace, we made cards and gift labels.View attachment 117193

Spent way too much money, but we got tons of cool stuff, from glitter paper to nail art pens to beads so I can make Golden Snitch Earrings.
Pleas share a pic of the earrings and directions, I'd love to try and make a set. thank you

I hope the rain stops for you too. I love seeing each year's costumes. Makes Halloween for me. My grandson's are not interested this year.....another rite of passage....
I think the only reason my baby went was because his friend needed him to be 1/2 of a couple costume:( When the first costumes started hitting the shelves I asked him what he wanted to be and said maybe nothing I don't think I'm going.:(

In our middle school we don't ever tell them they can or can't dress up. Usually there are a few kids that do dress up but no one did this year. Our student council has a couple contests: a game outside for everyone during our homeroom, and also a scary scarecrow contest, and a couple Halloween guessing contests (guess the weight of a couple pumpkins and guess how many candy corns where in a container).

On a side note, our mail was just delivered and the mail lady was dressed up as Minnie Mouse!
Awsome

Me too!!! I had them in various colors! :joyfull: Wish I saved them--they're supposedly back in style this fall! :D
I've seen them at the mall. those, leggings and day glow colors:facepalm: I admit I do wear leggings. I have heavy fleece ones for the bitter cold, lighter weight ones for less cold days (I wear them under sweat pants) and some fashion ones as the give more coverage than tights. They also don't run.:joyfull:

First of all congratulations to you and Mr. Bets for your efforts to control the type 2 diabetes. My hubby is a Type 2, but years ago dropped over 50 pounds, and has worked out for years in the boxing ring. He has been completely off medication for 3 years now, and it's all due to his determination and sacrifice.

As for posting hours, generally our area will post them, but this year they didn't--they sort of "suggested" (and I only read this in the local newspaper a day ago) that they run between 5:30 - 7:30 and to use judgement beyond that time. I would prefer they just stick to a beginning and end time. There are some kids out every year later on, that should not be out and (some--a small minority) of them take part in vandalism. I just think it's easier all around if reasonable time boundaries are set.
Congrats to your dh. I like the set hours as it makes planning easier. Seeing it was a Saturday some very small kids started about 10 minutes early and some big kids pushed it about 1/2 an hour later. I'm not complaining as the weather was excellent and they were all very polite.

Hi? I'm trying to enter the chit chat thread without making any loud noises.
I'm here. Me thinks.
I made a post this morning before my day turned insane (two kids, three costumes).
I just logged on again with the kids and the man fast asleep and you all have done three pages since my post this morning!
I have no point. I was just thinking maybe this might be a relaxing place to just talk to adult people who like to have fun and step away from work for a minute now and then during the day.
I've been looking for that for a while.
So Hi. I'm Sabrina. I love Disney trips. Found it quite by accident when my husband (then boyfriend) and I were invited to a wedding. Why? I asked....would adults go to Disney? Been hooked ever since.
Welcome to the madness.

Our Town Hall sets the time on their website and they usually put trick or treat times out on the Rotary Club sign in the heart of town along with the quarterly newsletter. When my kids were young it was also included in the newsletter from the Principal from school. They tried. We had rain the whole 6 hours of ToT'ing and the last two hours not one kid. I knew it was going to rain when I picked out the stuff. I will have my DD give some to her lifeguards tomorrow, they will eat anything. Sent some to her apartment, a bit here and the rest to DS. If I have more cookies and cheetos left I will put in the food pantry drop box.

That's a really good idea to donate your leftovers to the food pantry.

I bought 8 bags of the snack size bars, and I didn't count how many were in each bag. But let's say there were 15 per bag; hubby gave out 6 bags so that's 90 kids last night. The other two bags I'll give to one of my chummies at work; she loves Kit Kats.

Good morning and happy Sunday. I don't know how this happened but I'm going to have a mostly relaxing day. It's my day off from working out, I have left overs so no cooking, the boys cleaned my kitchen last night and the laundry's caught up. I do have to run to 2 grocery stores but I'm getting myself a few goodies while food shopping so that's not stressful. I love goodie shopping:hungry: It's also going to be warmer today. I feel great just thinking about it. I may start looking for a new sewing machine as mine is on it's last legs and it will cost twice as much to fix it than to get a new one.:(:(:( I really like the one I have and my dh saved up for it when we first got together. At the time it was state of the art, lots of bells and whistles for the time. It's still worth a few dollars even it's current condition at one place towards a trade in. I might have to do a little thinking about what I really want. I'm in no major rush. I may wait to see if I can snag a really good deal before Christmas, if not it may wait for quite a while.

Oh, stepgrandfather update:
It's been a long haul, but he's doing much better. He's in rehab right now, but my grandmother says they think he will be able to go home next week. Yea! They were concerned because his blood pressure was dropping when he would stand. My grandmother has a friend who is a pharmacist, and her friend thought about the fact that it could be one of his medications. When her friend went over his medication list, she determined the culprit and gave his doctor an alternative medication idea. He went on the other medication and is no longer having that problem. So that is very good news and quite a relief

Wow, that is amazing. I recall years ago a nurse telling our family that medicating the elderly can be tricky. (I guess as you age, your body can react differently than a younger person, to certain medications.)

Anyway, glad to hear the your grandfather is coming home. :)
