Basin? I'm hoping that one is in next year's edition. That Behind the Seeds and Nine Dragons. I don't buy it every trip, I only get it if the coupons work out

We went a few times back in the day when we lived in No Cal ('68, '70 and '71), and then again in the summer of '87 (we moved back to Texas in '76) on our way back up to visit friends. '87 was the year Star Tours opened. :geek:

And yes, if you've never seen the Grand Canyon in person, it's truly a site to behold. Like most things, pics and video just don't do it proper justice. :)

What is DLR? I assumed DL is DisneyLand, but I can't figure out the R...

:hungry: Fat is where it's at!!! :D My grandmother used to tell me that fat added so much flavor. (Also, in her later years, chef Julia Child complained about how hard it was to get decent cuts of meat in the U.S. People were so interested in "leaner" cooking, that the meat industry was responding to the request, and ruining what were previously good cuts of steak, etc.)

They already have their Disney plushes. DD has had Lady since before she was born. She was actually MINE and I bought her to decorate the nursery. I put her in the corner of the crib and one morning I found DD with Lady's ear clutched in her hand. So that night, I put Lady in the corner again and no sooner had I put DD in her crib than she rolled over and grabbed Lady's ear and pulled her to her. DD was about 8 months old and Lady has gone EVERYWHERE with us since then. DS has a miniature Scamp, who he calls "Baby" that he takes most places. He's not quite as fanatic as his sister is and he goes through phases with other stuffed animals but Baby does seem to be the favorite.
When you say the Birnbaum guide, do you get them the regular one or the kid's version and do you get one for each child or do they have to share?
DS has no patience for coloring. He'll ask for a coloring page and then hand it to his sister to color in for him. I think we'll probably just load their tablets up with videos and such for the 10 hour plane ride rather than do coloring books. Last time the airline also gave the kids each a bag with a coloring book, colored pencils, some snacks, etc in it...that would be fantastic if they did that again.

And yep, "tow" trucks don't even really exist anymore for typical personal transportation vehicles. The vast majority are using flatbeds. :)

You would have loved to see this "scene" with my dinky, broken down (I also had a missing hubcap--nice touch), 1997 Ford Escort, on the back of this huge rig! :hilarious:

Now THAT is fascinating about the bands for CMs. Glad a lot of them stash the bands before starting their work day. Work (in any profession) is stressful enough without being electronically stalked. Yikes. :jawdrop:

@Cesar R M How to kill a cactus (or ANY plant for that matter): give it to me. I'm an expert plant killer. I don't even have to try. I suspect they look at me and go "OH NO! She's TERRIBLE with plants" and they commit suicide so it's a quicker death. I had a cactus type desert arrangement for a couple of months in college. One of those kinds where they are better left alone and you just water it once every 3 weeks and they are good to go...I killed it. I still have no idea how. My husband has banned plants from our home...I'm not allowed to have them because I name them and then cry when they die.

We've always just gotten the regular version and my boys shared

Oh, not the Basin, but the coupon was for Behind the Seeds!! (I have been on Behind the Scenes multiple times over the years, and it's so reasonable, and only lasts about an hour. It's such an enjoyable time; I'd recommend it to anyone.)

Yeah, I read about those, but one of the blogs said not to buy them until you get to the parks because if you buy them online, you end up paying some sort of service charge. So that won't work for Christmas presents. :(

I looked it up and for some reason there's 50% markup on it on the Dutch book site. Amazon has it for $12 or so and on Bol.com it is more than 18 euros! I'll have to look at the difference with shipping.
