Hey @JenniferS . I meant to ask you this morning--just noticed a premium flag on your name. Did you become a premium member recently, or have you always had this? (I'm not very observant--for all I know, you've been a premium member for many years! :hilarious: )
It's recent. Considering the ridiculous amount of time I spend here, and how much I appreciate what our hosts do for us, I thought it was the least I could do to support them. I wish I'd done it sooner.

First question: yes, it is there. No I have not tried it. It has several different grilled cheese options and tomato bisque. Next time I walk by there, will take a picture of the sign. Planning on trying it in January.
Second question: I have not eaten there. My understanding is that it is characters and family-style, just like for lunch and dinner. I checked, and there was no breakfast menu sitting outside. Sorry I can't help you more.
Thank you for the info! We'll try the grilled cheese sandwiches in December! I wonder why they never added it to the list of dining options? I just wasn't sure about the breakfast at the Garden Grill - not seeing a lot of discussion about it. I think we'll skip it and do Kona and the Wave for sit down breakfasts.

Kona is a breakfast must do for us!

I know this subject is on another thread, are you guys excited for the Hollywood Studio's remake? I have mixed feelings. I wanted a little more Pixar stuff. The family coaster sounds okay. Don't know if I'll be able to ride it though. I was hoping for Car's Land, I love looking at the one in DL. Never gone there, so I don't know if it's as good as it looks.
I'm excited for Star Wars Land. For obvious reasons.

I like Carsland, but am glad that WDW is getting something unique instead of them doing carbon copies. Although Hong Kong and DLP both have Toy Story-themed lands. Carsland is absolutely amazing, but should remain unique to DL

None of the carts in FW seem to be on the dining list. I checked.

Kona and the Wave are both excellent choices. We make the effort to go there every trip, regardless of where we are staying.

Although I will admit that "South of the Border" relies heavily on stereotype representation, it was never meant to offend anyone and was more focused on the south of the border (being just south of the NC/SC border) situation then a slam on the Mexican Public. In fact, since it is allegedly Pedro that is running the place it is way more of a identity of Mexicans as business people. I never thought of it as an insult or an insensitivity to Mexico or it's people as it never really mentioned other then implication that there was Mexican influence and even then it was positive influence of clever entrepreneurial abilities of someone named Pedro. It was done with humor, it never put down anything Mexican even though it might have touched on the broken English that is a reality not a forced perspective. They were just funny and served a very commendable purpose of breaking up the monotony of interstate travel. In my humble opinion if anyone takes offense to it they are looking for something to be offended about.

To me it is no more offensive then when you consider that Fantasyland might be construed as something offensive to people with mental and reality disorders.
I dont see how you call it " allegedly Pedro running the place" or " someone with clever entrepreneurial abilities with the name of pedro" .

Pedro is heavily stereotyped mascot for the place.
The place, as Wikipedia says.. was build by Alan Schafer in 1950 as beer station.

The only interesting of the whole thing is.. that is is supposedly popular and grew so much that it required its own fire and police departments.

My mother told me that she bought a washer and dryer, back in 1958. They both lasted 25 years, and that was for a family of 6.
My home that I bought in 2000 came with a Kenmore Washer and Dryer. I don't know how old they were when I bought the place but the lady that sold it to me repeatedly told me that she was worried about them since they were older models. When I moved to NC 11 years later, I was just going to sell the place with them still there. Used often, but, untouched mechanically all that time. Then the people buying my place told me that they had their own washer and dryer so I could do whatever I wanted to with them. As it turned out it cost me about $100.00 to send them with my furniture to NC so I figured, even if they didn't last but a few months it might be worth it instead of laying out 8 or 9 hundred bucks (or more) for new ones. That was 4.5 years ago and they are still both going strong. They don't owe me anything at this point.

I can say it that way because it was allegedly. Everyone knew that no one named Pedro was running the place and the only reason that name was used was for the South of the Border (I believe Mexico is south of our border) connection. I see absolutely no defamation or ridicule of a population because of it, it is a theme attraction. Should the spokesman for a Mexican themed place be a guy named George Smith? If they were insulting Mexicans I would think differently, but, honestly in all the years that I have been seeing the place that thought never crossed my mind until someone, maybe you, brought it up.

I may be dense, but, I don't see it to be anything that should bother anyone, Mexican or not. It doesn't insult them, in fact it reviles in humor and fun. I'd love my Native American heritage to be shown in that light.

Five Guys still does the peanut thing, but they have many signs that say that there are peanut products inside and that they use peanut oil. I'm sympathetic with someone that has that type of allergy, but, they are not the whole world. There have to be places where people without those problems can go and enjoy the things that they like. There are many, many establishments that will take care of those with those allergies, it really isn't necessary that absolutely everything be altered for everyone. There are many places to get hamburgers that have no connection with peanuts at all. It's a big world, not everything needs to be one size fits all, as long as there are alternatives. Chose your options, don't deprive others of things that they can tolerate.
I never, nor do I think anyone else, would suggest otherwise. It's nice when places cater to you and your allergies, but sadly, it can't be that way everywhere. I do wonder, though, if places like Five Guys could do more nut free-options, as they would attract people who can tolerate having peanuts at another table but who cannot ingest them, instead of cooking everything in peanut oil, which makes it out for most.

However, you are wrong. There are very few places that cater to allergies. I don't eat out very much because there are too few places that do cater to allergies or that are nut-free. Subway, Chipotle, Panera, and some chain places are fine (for me at least, Panera has nuts, but I don't order their pastries), but I don't do any ice cream places, only safe smoothies place I have found so far is Smoothie King, had to give up Dunkin' Donuts, no Starbucks food items, and very few Chinese places (basically, one near me that does a good job, PF Chang's, and WDW), among others. I feel like my friends and I end up going the same four places every time we get food. While I understand that people like nuts (and hey, if you're not allergic, they are actually very, very good for you) and other foods that others can eat that some cannot, places can definitely learn more about how to handle when someone comes in with a food allergy. Outside of Disney, everyone just looks panicked when you say something. It makes it very challenging for those of us with food allergies and often leaves us feeling so drained that we don't have any desire to go back. Be glad that you do not have allergies as they are a pain to deal with.

But Disneyland is actually supposedly getting a carbon copy of Star Wars Land as well.

It always amazed me how long and flat the beaches are in the East coast.
I'm used to see mountains nearby or at least some cliffs with tons of stones.

No offence, but this is why white Americans should not talk about the representation of other cultures.
they have this constant " culture appropriation" and they never see anything wrong with it. (after all, the average white man as been privileged compared to other cultures).

I wont talk more about this, because it is definitively a sensitive issue.
And its starting to annoy me already.
