Well, we're back from the coast.
Sooooooo very much did not want to leave. Such a short trip, but, it could have been no trip at all, and we are thankful.
Really could live down there year 'round...! :)

Just a little more Port Aransas cheesiness before I call it a night. I really love that place, and will post some more general pics tomorrow. Thanks for indulging me, gang...! :)

Sarcasm aside, do you know how super excited this makes me? I mean, I'd be jumping up and down, but I'm in the middle of Tomorrowland and would look very silly doing so.

Though I might do it anyway...

No! I don't want to see future posts of you spraining your ankle and your DB pushing you around the race track in a wheelchair.

Wow, biscuits and gravy sure sound good. I suppose I should eat some lunch, but the turkey sandwich I plan to have doesn't sound as good as this.

Biscuits and Gravy never appealed to me whatsoever so my kids were never exposed to them. Then they went several hours South to College. When we were in Central Illinois last week one of my DD breakfasts was Biscuits and Gravy. Me I had the Whip Cream & Strawberry Stuffed French Toast, sprinkled with powder sugar and topped with some more fresh whip cream. No regrets

dang! cant you be my adoptive mom?
noone on my family makes brownies and I love them!!! :hilarious:

I love brownies too. Have not made them in a while. I start out with the deluxe dry mix and then I alter it as I like very moist brownies, all gooey. I add an extra egg to counter the liquid chocolate I sub for half of the water called for. Then I pour half the brownie batter in the pan and and cover the entire top with Ghirardeli semi sweet chocolate chips and then cover it with the balance of batter. Dear Lord they are good and sickeningly rich. When my dream of Florida relocation is realized some day I will have to make you a pan when you are on vacation.

Now the first cool day I'm sure I'll be baking brownies. :hungry:

Given my mother and her ankles, there are plenty of sprains left in my future.

One time, I remembered her stepping off the fireplace hearth and going completely down. She screamed for me because she needed her brace. I initially thought I was in trouble and ran up like a soldier to her, wondering what I had done.

I dont think she insulted Mexico. More like insulted the place.. for claiming to be " south of the border" . When its only a tourist trap that relies on heavily stereotyped Mexican bs.
Mhmm. Yes, it is so insensitive I think. And tacky. Really, really tacky.

No insults to Mexico. Though there are obviously areas you would not want to go, other areas seem quite lovely.

I actually only stopped once and that was when my wife and my girls need to use the bathroom. When we found out that it cost a quarter to use the bathroom, it was our last stop. Although, I used to stop there and buy raw peanuts on the way home once in a while.

When I was a small kid and we would take a train into the city to buy clothes (no malls back then) it cost a dime to use the restrooms. I wonder what they did in the men's room?

When I was in college I often, almost every other weekend flew down to Mississippi. I'd be the courier of Raw Peanuts for my friend to his family up this way. They'd soak them in their special solution and then bake them in the oven. I'm not a big fan of peanuts but they certainly do have their following of peeps that start from the raw in shell starting point.

We use to go to a restaurant that delivered peanuts to the table when you first seated and everyone threw the shells on the floor. With all the allergies I was surprised a pretty nice steak restaurant down where my DS went to college still held to that tradition. @StarWarsGirl95 would be dead.

Yesterday, it poured down rain for several hours. Today, it felt like 100 degrees again and the air has been super thick. I thought to myself, "Why do I want to move here again?"

Then I turned on my FB news feed, saw that there was an air quality alert for back home, and remembered that I've had zero allergy medication, am off of my controllers, and have only had to use my inhaler once down here for exercise-induced asthma. Other than that, zero meds

Oh right. That's why.

Oh Dear. My DS every once in a while would have that deer in the headlight look when I call loudly for him. My DD has your ankle thing too. Multiple times a month she strains one, fortunately most times it is better by morning.

Now I notice that they tend to randomly swell up. Sometimes they swell, and I've not a clue what I did to get that reaction. Just have to be careful.
