DHS DHS Makeover - What we know so far.....

Only problem is the generation raised on video games sees the world differently. Traditional dark rides need thrills or interactive elements. I am thinking they are developing the tech even as we write. Well not today because it is Sunday. But early tomorrow they will be back at it.

Yes. They now have the content to do so. Wouldn't even need to change the Indy scene. Lucasfilm, Pixar, DAS....

This is not true I am huge on games grew up on them and love dark rides. My kids like games more then me can't get them off of minecraft and COD but there favorite rides r HM and POTC

The last thing Disney World needs is the loss of yet another "classic Disney" caliber ride (ones with richly themed sets and plenty of animatronics, not needing to rely exclusively on video screens or thrills along with minimal physical elements and actual immersion). EPCOT's Future World razing was bad enough. These are quality rides that we'll never get back once they're gone, and unfortunately (given a lack of either ambition, budget or talent) quite possibly the kinds of rides we'll never see built again. I'm fine with plussing or enhancement, but it's complete closure and replacement is not something i'd be okay with at all.

Even in DHS there's plenty of room to expand the park past its current boundaries, and plenty of other actual wasted space within the current park to use as well.

IMO Epcot is the next wdw park after Disney Hollywood studios changed are finished to have the next major overhaul. Epcot should focus more on making heavy changes in future world that's more on the thrill side.....that's what Epcot has always lacked. Educational park has always been epcots MO i understand that.

Photo Dave according to screamscape DHS is only going to add 2 Star Wars attractions so the hope for a Star Wars land is not very likely. Lance Hart knows his stuff.

They're building Star Wars elsewhere in the park where there's actual squandered and unused space. I don't prefer either one, and we're getting both (without one having to replace the other). As it should be, no replacements necessary.

Screamscape last I heard has a laughable reputation. They're always making predictions and i've yet to see any of their speculations pan out.

I'm not sure how "dark rides" is even defined these days. We're not talking "Mr Toad's Wild Ride" any longer. Spiderman at Universal and Toy Story Mania are two of the world's most popular attractions and they are both fun-house type rides. So while I agree that passive rides like "World of Motion" are probably a thing of the past (and sadly, probably Spaceship Earth too - I don't think the interactive screens help enough), the future is bright for engaging, entertaining "dark rides". They are great for immersing you in another world, so I hope we see them in both Pandora and Star Wars Land.
