I'm happy for @Goofyernmost too. I carried more weight than I should have but nothing major however I have lost a great deal of weight over the last 6 months and am now to the weight of pre children, a healthy weight. People have really noticed. I'm eating better, healthy portions and exercising and gave up soda, drinking more water instead. Strangely the comments from most are not nice, it is more maudlin. Sometime you just can't win with people, especially those struggling with weight issues themselves. I have had that natural tendency to be thin most of my life and hit that normal middle age weight. Reverting to what I was seems to be a bad thing to some. Odd.
Congrats and some people are just let's say a bit off, for lack of a nicer way to put it.

First of all, I know nothing about computers. Having stated that, unless you're a techie whiz like Cesar RM, and know how to fix or find go-arounds in "new" computer things, maybe wait a while and see what the bugs are in the 10 version, that other people will write about. Once it's been road tested for a few months anyway, then maybe rethink about whether you want it or not. (That's my 1 cent of advice--not even worth two cents . . . :p)
That's worth way more than 2 cents as we always wait to see what bugs there are with new tech, that's saved us from many headaches over the years!:joyfull:

Had never heard of TCHO. When I googled, it indicated the one in San Fran is now closed.
It looks like a location in Berkley is still open, though.

The factory we toured was pretty small and they said their company was growing so it wouldn't surprise me if they moved to a larger location. It was kind of a small chocolate operation that was growing, I think they said they sold products at Whole Foods. I don't have a Whole Foods close by so I've never checked.

Our ages are different and that let me tell ya makes a difference. It was that real high dew point over the heat that was getting to me. Now today mid 80's and lower humidity and dew points I was in heaven.

I was listening to the weather report from the gentleman I have deep respect for and he said tonight that we are half way through the warm weather months. It made me sad since we have had so little warm so far. Now rain, rain we've had.

The high dew points and humidity I can do without too. It is bothering me more the older I get! We have had a nice stretch of days in the mid 80's with low humidity and it has been wonderful.

Hotter here. 95 with a 105 heat index.
I don't know what the heat index was here but I can tell you that the humidity level had to have been close to 99.99999%. I find that there are somethings that are not worthy of knowing. The temperature is still 95 degrees, now how it feels is of little difference other then psychologically. Same with chill factor -20 degrees is still -20 degrees except the wind makes it more effective. Just the opposite in the summer where a little wind makes it feel cooler. (It isn't though)

It's not that I don't understand the concept, I do very much so. I would rather be out in -20 with no wind then with it. Same with 95 and a breeze that dissipates the humidity. So really, and this might be a discovery here, it really isn't the humidity it is the wind (or lack thereof) that is the guilty party in both scenarios. Damn wind!

a lot of stuff is censored. I think the admin just threw a gigantic generic wordlist to censor. Probably something written by a nun ;)

That's great that they are still traveling. I don't think the place that we honeymooned at, is still around. We could go visit the area, St. Augistine in Florida.

I haven't spoken to them in a couple of days, but, they did say the place they stayed on their honeymoon 55 years ago was still there, and looked in good shape. And, they also remember the room they stayed in. :)
I suggested they should go spend at least one night there, and they thought they might do that.
Maybe we'll give my folks a shout tonight, and see if they have, yet. :)

That's actually very common with people who have lost a decent amount of weight. You and your doctor know what your target weight should be (based on many variables in your own particular medical record). Yet, the people that know you are in shock trying to adjust to the "new" you, and then start to get worried if they think you're getting a bit too thin (in their eyes). They still have an image of the "bigger" previous you, and are doing these subliminal body type comparisons in their mind. They then determine what you "should" look like after dieting.

Yet the funny part is that (hypothetically) if they didn't know you at all (when you had the extra weight on) and just saw you for the first time out on a street, they wouldn't think you were too thin. They'd simply see an average built man, and that would be that!

During that first time around with the weight loss, when I was 35, I actually never caught any real grief from anybody about it. And, if I would have, I wouldn't have given a carp anyway. I knew what was best for me, and I looked and felt great. DWifey had just never seen me that thin before, 'cause I was about 210lbs. when we first met. Then, after we got married, she really fattened me up like a spring sow...!!! :joyfull: :D
;)
And, the doc, of course was just goin' by some silly chart that didn't take into account body type.
No grief this time around either, so I'm all good...! :)

As a side note...
When I was heavier, back in the day, we used to love to go to the "Guess Your Weight" booth at the carnival at our local livestock show and rodeo, 'cause the guy ALWAYS guessed me at least 30lbs. under, so I always won my 2 cents worth of carp, that only cost me a dollar...!!! :joyfull: :hilarious: ;) :)

Cool!
I thought it was another girl, at first. But, upon closer inspection, I was pretty darn sure my final choice was correct. :)

Funny thing...
When we were at my folks two Sundays ago, my pop presented me with a box full of a bunch of stuff from my elementary school years. Amongst old RRR papers and a bunch of art type stuff, was my third grade class pic. I forgot to take the box with me, though.
I'll hafta' go grab it this weekend and see if y'all can guess which kiddo I am.
Let's all play...!!! :joyfull: ;)
I don't think they had cameras when I went to school. They had someone come in and draw our pictures on the blackboard in chalk. Then, of course, at the end of the day one of us had to erase it all. Wasn't a really productive era or one worthy of remembering.:joyfull::angelic:o_O

When you're the leader, you don't have to follow.
You're very fortunate. Some people marry the wrong person, or they get married and the marriages end badly, and it's just rough. You've got a happy marriage, you obviously love your husband, and he obviously loves you, so you're both very fortunate. To still adore each other after years and years of marriage, including after having a rough time with the kids...you're extremely fortunate. :)
This is what 30 years of togetherness looks like:
