@MOXOMUMD , now that your daughter is on summer vacation, does she have any fun activities during the week? When I was a kid, we had a town swimming pool (it was huge), and I was up there splashing around in the water at least 4 days out of 7. The town also had a summer day camp, and sometimes I'd go to that, because I liked the arts and crafts activities they had for the kids. The rest of the time I'd hang out with my little pals that lived on our street. Sometimes my mother would drive us to the (ocean) beaches, but I realize that you're not close to an ocean. I guess a pool or maybe a lake is what people in your area use for recreation in the summer months.
She's enrolled in all the reading programs at the library. She earns prizes for the books she reads. Her last one was a McD's smoothie. The next one is a personal pan pizza from Pizza Hut. She plays with her Legos a lot too. (She took a picture to show you. 
I'm going to work on that next summer!
