Man visits WDW for 365 days

I mean...I live behind Magic Kingdom and go to the parks 5-7 days a week and have been on 16 Disney Cruises in the past two years...but I also am a reporter and work on the road or from home. So a lot of times, I'll honestly take my laptop to the parks and sit somewhere to enjoy the music, atmosphere, and all that while I work.

Wow. That's a lot of Disney.

Any discussion of this could certainly go into many psychological corners. Putting that aside for now, I'd just like to add that doing anything that the body doesn't require for 365 days in a row is some kind of bonkers relative to how I like to experience the world. I couldn't imagine eating a Snickers for a 20th day in a row, walking into my backyard for a 200th day in a row, or watching my favorite TV show 300 days in a row.

I can think of one thing I could (and try) to do every day.

If only my wife were the same kind of bonkers...

As stated previously, there needs to be some clarification of what the person actually did at WDW. When I'm in FL for 5 months I visit WDW every day, but not necessarily at a park, resort, golf course, or Downtown Disney.

I read the article and it says he does have a job and that he did enter a park everyday except for 3 when he was on a disney cruise.

Read the fine print - he didn't go to WDW every day. 3 days he was on a Disney cruise. I'd say that's an asterisk.

He doesn't necessarily have to be an unemployed loser. It doesn't say he spent the whole day there every day. He could just go evenings.

Indeed. But he might be.

That said, I'm beginning to think I have infinitely more respective for the average unemployed loser than a dude that goes to WDW for 365 straight days.

If I lived that close I would try to go as much as I can. Maybe even if it's just an hour or two on some nights. But 365, don't know how I could pull that off.

I don't know if I could or would want to do 365 but like some others, I'm at the parks a lot - probably 50 or 60 days so far this year with maybe another 30 to go for F&W and Christmas. Sometimes maybe to just loop World Showcase a couple of times for exercise or grab a coffee and sit somewhere quiet with the Wife.

Funny thing is, even with all those visits, I think I've only been on 4 rides this year.

I would be much more impressed if this was accomplished during a leap year. A goal to shoot for for someone I guess.

His name is Brent Dodge. I'm actually Facebook friends with him. He is pretty fun to follow with his antics, notations, blogs and photos and such! I'll have to tell him "we" are talking about him here LOL On a side note Disney Parks did a snippet on his 365 days also

I've seen him run in and out of the parks just to get his day in. Mostly DHS because that's the easiest one to do when you're short on time. I've also seen him at work at downtown Disney as well. Seems like a very nice guy and good for him that after living in Florida for a few years and going to the park so often he doesn't get bored with it.

I did 200 - 250 days for the last two years and I live 1.2 hours away. Yes I was nuts (not a pixie duster though) but now I am at Uni for the next 15 months due to the better deal and interesting additions to the parks. I got my money's worth and expect to get the same at Uni. If WDW builds something worth coming back for I will but until then I'm done with Disney. Wish I had bought their stock 5 years ago though....

I know Brent very well and have had the privilege of spending 43 Disney days with him in the past 3 years (10 of them being during the time he completed his 365). During our visits, he typically gets only a few hours of sleep every night, so he can keep up with work, his website, and spend plenty of time with us in the parks. He is enthusiastic and full of life. As Lisa posted, he has a full time job. He also has 2 published books (currently working on the next one), a website with daily updates, a weekly web show, and he has his degree in Early Childhood Education. He is amazing with children and individuals who have special needs.

Two fun facts about Brent not mentioned in the article are that his car is a Herbie and he, his dad, and 2 friends won the WDW Scavenger Hunt.

True, he could be an employed loser. Personally couldn't do it nor would I have any desire to at any age, level of employment or state of (in)sanity.

A 'real' reporter?

I know plenty and they don't generally have time off for 16 cruises in 24 months ... let alone spending 5-7 days a week at WDW ... but whatever ...
