And the minority makes the rest of us look bad...

Yep. That can be said for every generation and kinda has. The Boomers had the Hippies and the Yippies and actually that wasn't the majority either. But the Boomers changed many things for men, women and races.

I actually didn't know how to react to generation Y comments, so many quips. Yet is was my generation that raised our children very differently than the past generations. We were the first generation of parents that the majority being duel working parents many of these teens were on their own to do whatever while nobody was home. We coddled our children far more than any other generation, we drove them everywhere, enrolled them in so many activities, bought games systems galore that many didn't know how to ride a bike to a friends house, we arranged Play Dates rather than walking out the door and finding kids in neighborhoods. We got the name of soccer moms while being taxi drivers to our kids and buying snacks for every game and Y became that every kid is a winner and every kid gets a trophy in those early formative years. We have to take some responsibility for what the Boom pumped out into the world. The McMansion era that bought these homes with 0% down and then stunned when the whole world crumbled around them with more foreclosures than the great recession. It is easy to pick on generation Y but honestly we Booms had a different way of raising our spawn.

But as far as buying cars, getting a job or moving it out I have compassion. A used 10 year old car is 10K, we don't have public transportation out here, the recession hit and all of my generation took jobs that were previously meant for teens and college students, so many have student loans that are a genuine burden. In ten years the University of Illinois tuition doubled even parents that saved could not keep up with that pace. My DD was in a dorm that was beautifully maintained but just shy of 100 years old and the room and board is just about $17,000 for about 8 months they are in it and 12 meals a week. I have empathy for generation Y.

But we did teach Generation Y to pull up their pants. That is all on them.

This is the reason I'm still living at home. People can call me a free-loader all they want, but if my parents are willing to let me stay here, I'm going to take advantage of that. Tuition puts me in enough debt as is.

Hmpf. I've never seen a contest, what am I miss'n?
In the Photography section of the forums there is a subsection called "Photography Contests". Each week there is a theme that members can post their own pictures to. It's just a fun little way to show off the pictures you've taken and see what others have done. There are some great photographers on this site, and I'm surprised I've won as many as I have!

I have a huge bruise on my shin from hitting my leg off a rod on a cart. I first did it last week, but then I did it again twice today. It's amazing how painful those things are. Maybe I need to start wearing shin guards when I work.

I think he was riding a shopping cart!
No, but I did get to ride one of those electric scooters last week. Some lady's was dying, so I had to bring her a new one, and they don't really move well without the power, so I couldn't just roll it to her.

When you're the leader, you don't have to follow.
@JenniferS, do you remember there being a lot of unlikable people in season 3? I'm 4 episodes in and dislike an entire tribe. I don't really have any one person I like, either.
I've only ever seen each season as they aired, and never again since, so keep in mind, Africa was almost 13 years ago for me.

Upon reviewing the Wikipedia recap, there are only 3 people that I remember at all: (in alphabetical order) Ethan, Lex and Big Tom.

If you have seen Episode 2, then you saw the warm blood and milk drinking contest. I never watch the "gross food" challenges, but this one sent me running into the powder room, retching and dry heaving. UGH!

I figured you probably wouldn't remember most of them, but it was worth asking! The bickering on one tribe is so annoying. Everyone on that tribe thinks they are the best thing to ever happen.

Big Tom was Son #1's favourite player ever!
Mind you, he hasn't watched since Sugar's first season.
