A few weeks ago in Philly a friend of mine was defending wiz, and followEd up with "its the real stuff not the cheap stuff" I proceeded to laugh very hard at the thought of cheap wiz...I've never understood the provolone vs. Whiz debate. Why be "either/or" when you can be "and/also"?

Whiz can be on a philly with the provolone. But provolone must be on it even without the whiz

They are steak sandwiches. Philly cheese steaks do not have mushrooms or mayo and it must me wiz. I have been schooled on this continously.

I'm not sure how you could enforce that… it would make for some very interesting first person point of view video on attractions.
However, it runs all sorts of liability risks. Namely bathrooms.

Authentic Philly cheesesteak has steak, cheese whiz and the cheese is put on the bun, not on the meat… And grilled onions. The steak must be ribeye. Even better if you mix the onions with the chopped steak.
No mayonnaise. No peppers. No lettuce or tomato.

For example, we take cabbage, add other vegetables, wrap it up in a wrap, deep-fried and serve it with duck sauce… everyone loves spring rolls.

Mayo or pizza sauce or plain, your call. I think the mayo and the natural juices (or grease) from the cooked steak play well together. Never tried the pizza sauce because, well, just because.

Had Malnati's on our last visit. Would definitely rank it higher than Gino's. Malnati versus Girodano??? Tough one. On a side note since we are skirting the thread with a bit of sandwich discussion, had Al's Italian Beef last time in Chicago. A good meal if I do say so myself.You mean there are other makers of pizza besides Giordano's,Gino's, and Malnati's? Who knew

Cabbage on a kebab? I've never seen or heard of anyone having cabbage on a kebab and I've seen some strange things put on kebabs. They're usually the staple of a British night out, apparently there's nothing like greasy strips of meat smothered in chili sauce and mayonnaise when you're too drunk to really know what you're eating
. I hate kebabs myself but I might had have one or two when I've been a bit worse for wear; needless to say I regretted it the next day.
