Its 30F outside. Supposed to be ice and snow but it just looks soggy. The refinery project hubby is on shut down for the day. ExxonMobil doesn't want anyone climbing around on icy pipe racks & ladders.
Its a good gumbo day if ever I've seen one. Think this will go down famously with some 'shine while we watch Moonshiners tonight.

My MiL makes a mean shrimp etouffe. I've never tried to cook it. I don't care much for shrimp so when she cooks it I sit next to Tracey, pick out the shrimp, & put them in his bowl. I wonder if I could modify it with chicken and/or sausage. Hmmmm......
Though, if you are taking requests, I would kill for a good étouffée!

It is! I added extra sausage & seasoning to give it a little extra bite. I guess I'll do a pan of cornbread with it. Dang, I can't wait!

I don't care for crawfish or lobster or any swimmy thing. Now Tracey can boil up crawfish with all the vegetables. I just don't eat any of it. The boys will. When we used to go to crawfish boils I always brought some steak to throw on a grill.

I have made bread, cheese, and dark chocolate brownies today.
I have spent four whole days with my husband and son (who has had yesterday and today's classes cancelled) and I am more than ready to have the house to myself tomorrow.
