Let me be the first to say, WOW!
I am super excited to get anything new at my least favourite park. I actually have no doubt that it will turn out to be pretty spectacular. Cameron is too much of an egotist to let it fail, and Rohde does a great job with immersive environments.
Don't stop now Disney, DHS and Epcot need major improvements as well.
I only go to Photo Ops when the grand kids are in two and than because they want to. I have said it before, when you have people waiting in line for over an hour to have pictures taken with the Disney Princesses, you understand why Disney has to open more photo ops every year. It may not be what I want, but like it or not there sure is demand for it. When Avatar opens in 2017, people will be wanting pictures with the charters form the movie.
:/
Im still surprised this is actually being built. So much more they could do with the space...especially with rights to Star Wars....Avatarland? I've never actually made it through the whole movie, to this day.
One would hope, J.C. would prohibit walk around characters from the movie like Jake, etc. like JK Rowling prohibits walk around main principle characters in the park.
I do not think for safety of the actors and guest, that you could have walk around characters any place in Walt Disney World.
The ride could have been so much more. Imagine three or four show scenes along the way.
THANK you. You said it much better than I did.

are you 100% sure the people said this? and not just a lame cost cut cookie in the disguise of "ppl wanted more of XX so we remove this more expensive thing!"Never saw Hunchback, so I'll just take your word for it.
Disney does surveys, people say MORE PHOTO OPS. Just trying to improve guest satisfaction.

. If everyone wanted photo ops, they'd be in Vegas, if no one wanted them they'd be gone or greatly reduced from Disney parks.
It appears that the South Florida Water Management District permit for the Avatar project has finally shown up. Unfortunately it's very light on details and currently doesn't contain a plan for what is going to be built.
So increased building coverage means more rides in each area rightOk, here is what is in the permit I found today. It contains a map of the drainage basins within AK. I have overlayed that map over a satellite image of the park. For each basin the permits list an increase in building coverage and a decrease in pavement coverage. Here are the numbers, each is the number of acres increase in buildings and decrease in pavement.
Basin A: .31
Basin CDE: 4.01
Basin FG: 4.12
Basin J: .72
These numbers bring up more questions then they answer.

So the numbers suggest more building increases in the EE Basin than in the Camp Minnie Mickey Basin....Basin A: .31
Basin CDE: 4.01
Basin FG: 4.12
Basin J: .72
These numbers bring up more questions then they answer.
