And, I just went on and checked for today, I can make FP+ reservations for TSMM at 4:20-5:20 and then again from 4:45 to 5:45. There are still FP+ available.

As of right now, there is still plenty of same day availability for FP+, the apocalypse is not upon us- yet. Save your indignation for when it rolls out for everyone, then we'll see real trouble.

I think there will be a number of cancellations the day or two prior to the reservation date when staff is allready set, therefore making it slightly easier to walk up.

I mean look at the current impact on Signature dinning. You can usually walk up to Le Cellier and most character dinning without minimal wait (tested and confirmed on my last trip)

I can't say that I'm shocked to hear about this. When the first test of FP+ rolled out, with the groups of attractions, I was cautiously optimistic that it might in fact spread out the crowds a bit and make the standby lines move a bit quicker at some of the more popular attractions. But when that scheme went by the wayside and they started allowing folks to select any 3 FP+ attractions, I figured that this would be the eventual outcome. I know for sure that my family would select the 3 mountains at MK, or TSM and RnR at DHS, if that is what he system allows. But that doesn't mean I think that it should work that way.

I was honestly baffled by the number of people on this site who were applauding this change and thinking that it was a good thing - to me, it was more of a "be careful what you wish for..."

Like xdan020, my parents are using our points in about a month, and I have no idea what advice I should be giving them as far as planning for this. At this point, I think it's likely that the next time we use our DVC, we will be going to BB, TL, and Uni.

I thought going to WDW was supposed to be a relaxing vacation not having to worry about time... I'm all for a paperless FP system but when it goes to me having to plan my ever footstep that is where I dislike the new FP+. I know that I don't go to WDW blindly and do plan ahead but I know I don't mark every single step that's for sure.

Why not? Rasulo said having these reservations helps the company open up your wallet. They don't care about locals or frequent visitors anyway. They care about once or twice in a lifetime, must have a perfect MAGICAL vacation and willing to spend $5000+ to do it visitors.

I think the assumption that MM+ is 100% to blame for this is a little out of context. This is a very busy week between Food & Wine and Columbus Day. When we were there in March, during a relatively slow time of year (we walked onto many attractions) we couldn't get most of the FPs we wanted. We arrived to DHS at 10:00 and FPs for TSMM were gone. We arrived to Epcot at 9:30 and FPs for Soarin' were gone. To me, this isn't anything out of the ordinary and blaming it 100% on the FP+ system is maybe a little unfair. Just my two cents.

I still don't understand the point of FP+. Are people seriously going to spend more time in GIFT SHOPS because they can't get paper Fastpasses any more? No, we're going to stand around and shake our fists impotently at the sky (or at CMs in guest relations), with a bad taste in our mouths toward WDW.

Frankly, WDW will be getting LESS money from my family thanks to their latest "improvement." Because the FP+ spoils will go to those who plan vacations months ahead of time, there is a disincentive for us to ever consider investing in DVC (which we used to think about) or an annual pass to make frequent or spur-of-the-moment trips to WDW -- instead, we'll plan trips one at a time, a year or more ahead. We also won't be forking over money for parkhoppers anymore. What's the point, when you only get FPs for one park? Stay on property? Only if WDW doesn't make further cuts to extra magic hours. :depressed: The said thing is, we're paying less, but we're also going to be getting less, and what we're losing will be things I will really miss.

Here is your Epcot update- FP still available TODAY for Test track @ 2:30-3:30, 3:15-4:15, and 4:05-5:05, Soarin' from 7:30-8:30 (possibly also earlier, but they are giving me my other choices at that time)

This isn't too bad, you wouldn't be doing much better with legacy FP on a typical day at 2:30 in the afternoon.

For the record, I'm not posting this to be all "rah-rah FP+ is the best", I'm personally not a huge fan, but just to let people know that the end days are not here yet. If you have a vacation coming up soon, you still have some flexibility, don't despair of FP+ too much yet.

But but but...the PowerPoint said guest spending would increase by 6.34% and MAGIC would only decrease by 5.41%!

Is the situation, then, that paper FPs are gone for today (as previously reported), but that FP+ are still available for the MagicBand testers?
