Don't you guys think the Adventurer's Club could be added to the Animal Kingdom Lodge or the Animal Kingdom Theme Park as a Hoop Dee Doo-esque dinner show?

I think it would work really well. What do you all think?

I have been pitching that idea since the announcement of the closure. No idea if it will ever happen but I am keeping my fingers crossed.

Yeah, it seems like a great idea for a number of reason. Most important, it has such a reliable fan base that it would definitely bring in the money. If they used the same set up as Hoop Dee Doo and Luau, you would have the Alcohol and Food aspect present. And, I know I would be willing to pay 45 bucks for an hour and a half of Adventurer's club fun. More than likely, all they would have to do is combine the various shows that were performed, with some filler in between them.

The vision I had in mind were 2 different shows and an after show. Make the early show kid friendly and the later show not so kid friendly with a 21 and up after show that would be like lounging around the Main Salon with a cash bar.

I would also be there if they announced this. I think the dinner show is an untapped market at WDW. HDDR and the much maligned SoA are the 2 current offerings and they seems to do pretty well. With a built in fan base this could really do wonders for the right place within DAK. I'm a fan of dinner shows in theory but few are done well and I often find myself scouring the internet trying find something decent offsite but with little or no results.

So yes bring it on

The problem with the show was not that is wasn't popular it just was not bringing in the revenue. Most people who watched the show who were regulars usually did not order alcohol just soda so they could not generate much revenue. But as a dinner show it might work out better.

I would pay to see a Adventurer's Club dinner show. I really like Richard's idea of a late night version for 21+.
I think the Animal Kingdom park/lodge is a great setting for it due to the jungle/adventure theme.

IIRC there was a proposal for "Night Kingdom" that was to be a evening access to AK for adults only and would include an Adventurers' Club style restaurant/bar. I think the costs proposed were quite expensive...

I could, of course, be entirely mis-remembering.

You're too young to mis-remember Monty. Near my age I think.

I only went to the Adventurers Club once. Loved it. Wish I hadn't waited so long.

We may be near the same age, but the years have been much kinder to you!

I would love to see another dinner show somewhere. There are currently three, all family oriented. But to have to shows, one for family and one for 21+ would be great, as there is not much to do in WDW as an adult after 10pm. Start the campaign Richard!

I think you're partially right, but there's more to it. Adventurer's Club was a component of a larger failed concept, which was of course Pleasure Island. The original idea behind Pleasure Island is that you'd pay one price to gain access to all the music clubs, plus the Comedy Warehouse & AC, with the philosophy being that people would tend to float from club to club, the same way people visit every land in MK, to feel like you were "getting your money's worth." AC/CW might not have sold as much booze as the dance clubs, but I believe they also brought quite a few people into PI who otherwise would not have come to PI.

Near Pleasure Island's end, I know they experimented with a one-price-one-club option, I think it was like 10 bucks for any of the dance clubs, 12 or 15 for CW or AC. There, I think your point is more valid, as the audience during slow times weren't buying enough booze, and during busy periods, it was hard to turn over those seats to new people, creating gridlock (of perhaps people who weren't buying booze). Either way, the club as it was built couldn't sustain that sort of price structure at its current size. So yeah, a bigger hall, a longer show as part of a dinner theater package, might have a better shot at success. It'd be great to rotate the shows, either early to late shows or during the course of the week (perhaps with different menus for different shows), to attract repeat business, like when certain magazines release one issue with multiple covers so some people might feel compelled to collect them all.

I heard something similar as well.
