How is the bus transportation from the Wilderness Lodge to Epcot, Animal Kingdon and Hollywood Studios. I am planning an October 2012 trip with my wife, DS (will be 8 during the trip) and DS (will be 6 during the trip) and wanted to get some opinions.
Thanks.:)

Its the same as most resorts. Sometimes 2 bus's for the same park will come before the bus you need. Other than that usually every 20 mins or so.

We love the WL..we think of it as our home away from home. I have had to promise my DH that we will stay here every other trip..the only way I could get him try other resorts. Bus service is just like everywhere. We have not really had any issues while at the Lodge..most of our problems were while at the parks trying to get back to the lodge. Its not really fair to base your choice in resorts on transportation..I say go for and have a awesome stay at our home!!!

The bus service was unbelivable to me at that resort. They have a person there to help you if you need it. One time we was comming down the ramp to get on the bus for Epcot and it started to leave. Well the woman that was there asked if that was the bus we wanted and we said yes. Well she got right on her little walkie-talkie and the bus stopped and she told us to go ahead and get on it and we did. So to me the bus service at WL is top notch.

We experienced a few bus issues when trying to make some early morning character breakfast (in one case-waited over 40min), but other than that- service was decent.

We just got back, March 19-25 and had amazing service the whole time. I think the longest we waited was 10 min, one time. We would come bak for a mid day nap too.

Hi there,

It's about the same as with other resorts. We stayed there for a long weekend and didn't have an issue with the buses. Nothing that stuck out anyway. I don't think we waited more then 15 mins and we were there for Halloween which is generally a busy time. And you can use the boat too!!

Hopefully by then they will be done with the bus platform contruction. Right now it is done in a temporary area in the parking lot with the use of tents.

I do not think it has caused any delays in but travel but it sure has taken most of the parking spaces away for guests.

As some of said, dont forget you can use the boats to get to the MK, and then Epcot from that point. Its much better then a bus.

Enjoy your stay. Its beautiful.

Not to get off subject but I didn't know they were working on the bus platform. How long has this been going on?

Thanks for the information.
Our last two trips with the kids were the Grand Floridian in December 2008 and then the Polynesian in October 2010 so that we would have easy access via the monorail, so the only bus travel was 1 day for Hollywood Studios and 1 day for animal Kingdom.
I've heard great things about the Wilderness Lodge but was concerned over the busing situation.
I may still try to get the kids on the monorail to Epcot via the MK or TTC just for the experience. . .:)

It was going on March 4th when I got there so it must have started in Feb. It was kinda annoying having that walk especially since i was staying in the Villas.
