What's your race bib #?

For those of you running in Marathon weekend, the waivers are now available. Your race# is listed on the waiver.

What's your number?

Mine is 8922. My best friend got 5004. (I think it's a little odd that our numbers are so far apart because we registered at the same time.) I'm really hoping that we are place in the same corral.

Does anyone know how they split the groups (red start vs. blue start)? Is it by bib# or is it corral location (i.e. Red-corrals A,B,C-Blue-corrals-D,E,F)? I know in the Princess 1/2 we could move to back to another corral (i.e B to C). But are you allowed to move from red to blue.

Less than a month to go!

I can't answer with any real facts, but I'd suspect there's a high likelyhood that you won't be able to cross between groups. You may want to e-mail someone now and see if they can make sure you and your friend are in the same group. You probably have a better chance of getting it changed now than getting it changed during the mess down there.

Quick Question: So I ran a half marathon and I was going to use that time to get placed in a corral. I forgot to do it though and when I went to check about sending in times it was after the date they said you could email in your proof of time and they said to bring the proof of time to the expo for packet pick up to be placed. Is this still possible to be placed in a corral? If I don't give proof of time does this mean I get corralled with the walkers?

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Yes, print out your race results and bring them for your proof of time, after you pick up your bib, ask the person who gives you your bib that you have your proof of time and where you should go as your looking to change corrals. They will direct you to where you can do that - once you show your proof of time, if it qualifies you for another corral, they put a sticker with that coral # on your existing bib. I've done it before, it's pretty simple. Good luck!

Bib number - 16405

Thats what happens when you are too lazy to send in proof of time. I'll get my corral changed at the expo.

Awesome! Thanks MCC1! I got nervous that I was going to get stuck running with slower people and it would hurt any chance I have at meeting the time goal I set for myself.

Numbers are typically based on projected finish. So, even registering at the same exact time could have a large difference in bib numbers.

There has been talk that there will not be red and blue corrals this year.

We put the same projected finish time in as well.

This happened this spring when we ran the Princess as well; When we registered neither of us had run a race, so we put the projected finish time, not only were our bib#s off by over a thousand, I ended up in Corral C and she was in Corral D. I moved back so we could be together. But I'm just concerned with the two different color starting blocks this time around.

On the Official Marathon page, if you look at the spectator resources page, in the Online Spector Planning Tool they show the map and it does have the red and blue starting areas.

I'm thinking they used the old map. If you look at the map in the program guide for 2011 (linked in the January marathon thread), there is no red/blue corral noted. There's a thread at runningoftheears.com where someone posted an excerpt from an email that stated there would not be separate courses due to the wave starts.

I've always wondered how they assigned numbers. A friend and I had a similar situation to your Princess experience with Wine&Dine. No rhyme or reason to their methods, I guess.

That would be nice. Looking at the race map, it seems like the "blue" people get a crappier course than the "red" people, having to run around the Epcot perimeter and come in through WS instead of the "Woww!" of running under SSE in the early miles. It's funny the odd things you focus on before the race, but I've been pondering this Red vs. Blue issue for MONTHS.

I haven't downloaded my waiver # (full marathon) yet. I don't have a printer hooked up at home, so I just need to remember to print my waiver at work this week.

Half #22738. I was hoping for an odd number, but alas...

I submitted a good time from a previous half-marathon, so I hope I get one of the first corrals.

I do not believe the bib numbers correspond to corral assignments. They haven't in the past.

One thing I did notice in the program this year was the half and full start times were moved up. In past years the wheelchair start was 6:00 and was moved up last year to 5:54, so the elites went off at 6:00. This year lists wheelchair start times as 5:30 and the first wave at 5:35. Each race will have 8 waves, the half in 6 minute intervals and the full in 4.

I also think the Blue start is only the first wave, while the waves are all in the red start, which enters Epcot through the main entrance.
