What's your race bib #?

I would freak out if I got that number. I'm not very superstitious but that number just gives me the hebbie-jebbies!

I drew #33 in a 5K once, and ran a (pitiful) 33:33

The race organizer (who I happen to know pretty well) suggest I go buy some Rolling Rock afterwards.

Have no idea what the numbers mean, but for the half, my number is 42777 and my hubby is 42959????

Your bib number corresponds to the race you registered for. For example 1-20000 are for the full marathon. 20001-45000 are for the half. The lower numbers are usually the elite/seeded runners. The bibs for non-seeded runners are not determined by projected finish time. That's why the corrals don't match the bibs. It seems the bibs may have something to do with when you registered.

I registered within the first five minutes of the half opening up for registration... and got a horrendous 43950. I was so hoping for a low number, and thought I had a pretty good chance by registering so early. Oh well... :)

18 days to go! I really don't feel ready at all...

- What is the cap number for each race? How do bib numbers relate to races?
- How are bib numbers determined? Does it have anything to do with when you registered?
- Is there any correlation between bib numbers and corral assignments?
- How are runners/walkers placed in corrals if they do not provide proof of time? How heavily is the projected time considered, if there is no proof of previous race?

I received the following response from Disneysports.com:

Bib numbers are determined based on proof of time submitted. If you do not submit proof of time, your number is random once all the proof of time registrants have been assigned their numbers. The bib/corral system is designed to pick up your proof of time and place you in a corral accordingly.

Disney caps the races each year based on internal projections which vary per race.

I have a weird thing with nice sounding numbers and I like this one a lot because of the double digits in it... I think it's a good omen! :sohappy:

27373 for the half. I've always been tempted to write funny things on the back side of my bib such as: "If found unconscious, resuscitate with cheeseburgers" or things like that, but I've always held back thinking that if anything actually went wrong and anyone was actually reading the back of my bib they might not be in the mood.

. . . but since my wife should be with me this year . . . and since she would probably be in a great mood if I dropped dead.:lookaroun

. . . maybe I'll try to think of some fun things to write on the back of my bib this year.

Good Luck with the 1/2! Wish I was heading down there today. I'm not leaving till Saturday morning and I'm a little worried about the snow they are forecasting.

Ouch.

I am heading out 1:30 PM on Friday. I keep looking at the snow forcasts as well. Good luck with your flight and the race.

Count me as another fellow Jerseyan who is hoping snow doesn't interfere with travel! We leave at 6:51 pm out of Atlantic City. Not supposed to be too bad here in the south though.
