All Star Movie Resort

What is the big advantage or disadvantage from choosing the prefered room or the standard room at the resort? I know there is a differance in price per night and the prefered rooms are closer to everything,but what else am I missing?

In all honesty, NONE! Preferred at POP works out well because it is so large. The other 3 are smaller compared to POP. I was at MUSIC and was at the farthest building away from the main building - it takes about a 10 minute walk but I love it.

We had a preferred room bump when we stayed at Movies a few years ago. Location was the only real difference from what I hear, but it was a great location - first building on your right once you left the main building and food court. It was really nice having a short walk back when you got off the bus late at night. Not sure its worth the money, but that seems to be what you get for the extra.

Pretty much the walk to your room, after a long day at the parks the shorter the better.

I'm personally going to upgrade to Preferred when we arrive 11/20 and I'm very happy to hear what you say about All Star Movies!!! Glad you liked it. This will be our 1st stay there (at Movies..not WDW lol)

totally argee about the food court!! i've stayed at the comtempory, AK lodge, coranado springs, carribean, and for the price you pay i prefer the all stars best. nothing that i've found beats all stars food court. especially with kids, a lot more to choose from:sohappy:

It's all about how close to the food court and bus stop you are. Being closer is a better choice for most people. It can be tricky though. Preferred rooms are located within a certain number of feet of the food court. I once stayed there and was located farthest from the food court yet still in a preferred room. It wasn't worth the price that time (especially since a room a few feet away was not preferred and therefore cheaper). But I have gotten preferred rooms that were very close to the food court and on those occasions the price was worth it.
