We ate here for a character breakfast. The food was good. Some was the same as everywhere else, and some was Nordic influence. The kids enjoyed seeing the princesses. The buffet was warm where it needed to be and cold where it needed to be. The Nordic meats stood out as a very good option.

It is one of the best places for character interaction.

As far as food goes, thats a tough call.

I am part Norwegian, and remember my grandmother making many of the things that are served, so that is a special thing for me. If that was not the case, I don't think I would like it all that much. As was said, the buffet was warm/cool at times, and at times looked like it was ravaged by a wild horde. But then they do pack a LOT of people in there.

I have eaten there maybe 5 times total. 2 breakfast, 3 dinner. Ill go back, but it could be better.

The table service portion of the meal is quite good though.

We've done the breakfast there twice and have really liked it. We haven't been back lately because we usually do the castle breakfast and felt that this in addition to that was overkill.

But, I really like the atmosphere there and the princesses are always super nice. We usually do the breakfast since that is normal food and I'm not sure we would be up to the Norwegian food for dinner or lunch. Although I'm tempted...

I could probably find some pictures. I'll have to look since it's not from our last two trips. and those are the only ones I still have on this computer.

I found my latest pictures from there. I guess I can only give you pictures of the princesses we saw there and some random shots of the kids looking so young where you can kind of see some of the food that we had...

Sorry, maybe someone else can help you out more with pictures of the overall feel of the place. But the food is really good, they seem to have a good selection of breakfast food, even my oldest who hates eggs and such has something to eat there.

It is not even that Norwegian-y. What they offer is really pretty mainstream. There are a lot of items that you would find at any Scanda-fest that are not offered. It really is a pretty tame selection.

Good point. I suppose every disney restaurant usually offers something for the bland eater like me...there are just so many restaurants at epcot that are more appealing to me than akershus for lunch or dinner.

DW and I ate dinner there last May. The food was really good and the best character interaction of all the character meals. The Princesses go all out and spend quite a bit of time at each table.

Went to lunch twice and it is the best character meal IMO. Best food, great location, not especially noisy and definitely good character interaction.

My family and I go for the breakfast nearly ever trip. The character interaction is great and it is only 1 point per person on the dining plan. Our daughter loves meeting the princesses and we love eating the potato's. They are to die for!! (They will give you the recipe if you ask for it) Some of this meal is buffet style. (danishes, croissants, muffins, bagels, salami, salmon, cheeses, fruits.) Some is brought to your table. (scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon, and the aformentioned potato's). Everybody has their picture taken with a Princess as they enter the restaurant. (It has always been Belle for us). They will give you a 8x10 and a couple of 4x6 pictures as a gift before your meal is finished. All in all, we find it to be an excellent meet and greet and a decent value as well. I don't have any pics of the meal, except the ones of my daughter with the princesses and one with the cute waitress we had. Let me know if your interested.

its prob my fav restuarant on property, we went for dinner on our last trip and it was amazing!! the interaction with the princesses was fantastic, the danced with my daughter, happily signed autographs and waited while we took as many photos as we could, the buffet was great, my dd is a fussy eater so it can be hard to find a dinner that she will eat, but we had no trouble catering for fussy (and fustrating) tastes..lol

akershus will be first on my list for my next vacation, its better than crt!!!

you'll love it....

Not to contradict everyone, but this was the only dinner we ever outright hated food-wise on Disney property. The choices were very limited, and while I will admit to being a picky eater, the hubby likes everything, and he hated both the buffet appetizers and the entrees, as did I and the kids.

That said, it was the best princess character interaction ever! I don't regret going there because it meant so much to the kids to be able to visit and get pictures with so many princesses. But because of the food, we will never go back again.

I've been here for bfast and dinner. Bfast - I will go again and again. The cheesy potatoes are to die for!! YUM! However, and i'll preface this by saying that I am a picky eater - but dinner - :hurl:. I ordered of the kids menu and barely ate it. It's very very very different. If you are an adventurist foodie - then this would be an experience for you. But I hated it. It wasn't that the food was "bad" as in done poorly - it was that the menu was so different. It's truly a Norwegian type of dining experience.

I can say we did not remember what the food tasted like for the breakfast. The memerioes we have are of my daughter and all those princesses. You can't beat the look on kids faces when seeing princesses. That trumphed any food that would have been served to me. The pic by my name is from that day.

We were there for dinner last summer. I was a little worried as my DH and DD are very picky eaters, but they both found dishes that they liked. The food was good and the interaction with the princesses was awesome. We were advised to go here over Cindy's Table by our travel agent who suggested it because it was only 1 TS credit and according to her there would be more princesses here.

Hi we went here for breakfast on our last visit. We loved it so much we are going again this visit down. It really is wonderful. The food is really good. They come to you table with eggs, some potatoe cassorole (Potatoes with cheese) "Delicious" and bacon and/or sausage. There is also a bar 1 side is Veges/Fruits Yogurt and the other is cheeses bread, bagels, and pasteries and all the fixings. It is really clean and nice. I am very picky about places and this we are doing again. The Princess' come around to each table each of them. Very sweet. You also get your picture taken with Belle, before you are seated and they deliver the picture to you before you leave. I think you and your Fiance' should do this and I doubt you would be disappointed either. Do the breakfast though, I am not sure about the dinner/menu etc. :) Take care now :sohappy:

Can't wait

I have only been to WDW twice...once was when I was really young and the other was in HS when we had to eat where they told us to. This time I have the DDP and I am looking forward to this place even more. I am more concerned with the experience of my dining than the food. That is why I am going! I can't wait!:D
