LOL, Steve! Nice thread title. :D

And yes, it does look very, very, very nice. Happy to see them getting back to the basics. :D

Keep it up, EPCOT...don't let them slip again.

Any word on whether the whole thing will get cleaned? It seems like its going pretty fast at EPCOT, they could probably do the whole track in a few weeks.

The last time I was there I remeber making the comment that they really need to do something with the beam. It was looking really horrible. Good Job Epcot! ::sohappy::

I noticed this at the start of December - one beam near Test Track was cleaned. It really stood out from the rest. I don`t know if this was a test piece or if this is the length of time it takes; 2 months for one area? Not a critisicm, just a question. Or perhaps work was suspended over the holidays and the cold.

Very nice.

I am not one to bash Disney at every turn. In fact if you look at my history of posts, very often I am defending their positions.

However, I think this is a perfect example of "declining by degreess" (despite how much I think that phrase is overused). The beams did not get dirty overnight. It happens slowly over time. Many people do not notice from day to day. If it was not for older pictures, many more people would not have noticed at all. Then you clean them, and BAM! holy carp! those things were dirty, and they look SO much better now.

I'm thinking it was a test piece. I don't really think any large scale beam cleaning has ever been done. I'm very happy to see it finally get done - it's become a real eyesore.

i seem to remember a while back on these forums many memebers complaining about the state of the monorail beams. looks like someone from Disney actually listens to fans!

They can do one section a night but it all depends on the weather, special events, EMH and construction vehicles in certain areas. Right now they are focusing on Future World East because they can reach it with a ladder except for the section over the section by the fountain with the walls around it and the water by the Odyssey bridge. I presume the entire Epcot section will be done by the opening of F&G (March 3rd).

Any idea how it's going to be done over the water?

Purdy!

I like when my Epcot gets some love... even if it's bath it desperately needs!

Now, could they put some nice LEDs along the track! Asking too much? :lookaroun

They do look much improved indeed!

As as for the state before their cleaning, I'm not sure how much could be done on a regular basis. I don't know how easy it is to get out there and clean something that extensive (and high up) routinely....

Oh, not at all. And have them cycle through, like in the beginning of this video. :D
