Goofy Statue outside Exposition Hall?

Hi all :wave:

We visited WDW 2 weeks ago and was wondering where the sitting statue of Goofy is that used to be on a bench outside Exposition Hall on Main Street?
Unless I was high on Disney magic, I did not see him. Was he really removed?

He was there in Dec, and I can think of no valid reason to remove him....

He might be gone for just a new painting and cleaning. All those kids climbing and drooling on him and Iago and Zazu pooping on him can do damage to Goofy's clothes. :lookaroun

He was there in October as well when I went because we got a picture with him. You think they could wash him rather easily without taking him out, like with a hose or something

I remember on my second trip, when I was 11, my aunt wanted me to take a picture with the Goofy statue. So, I sat down and then he talked. I was so suprised, that I actually jumped off of the bench. But I did take the picture and It came out well.

Well that would be nice, but I am from Ohio so the weather that weekend was better than what we get. The day that we drove into disney Ohio got almost a foot of snow and continued for 3 days. So are 10 day vacation was amazing. Happy running to you as well.

I would but my old computer crashed and we lost all our pictures and my aunt's camera got stolen. So, I can't.

We were just at the magic kingdom the first week of May and when I got home I was upset because we had forgotten to take our yearly picture of my two boys with Goofy, we have these pictures going back to when they were 2 (the oldest is now 10). I didn't think that I would forget to take the picture if I saw the Goofy bench there in its normal spot so I checked my pictures, and sure if enough the spot where the bench normally was is empty. Any news on if this bench has been moved, removed, or is just on an extended trip to the cleaners?

Guess Goofy never came back. I have been looking for him for a few months now and I haven't been able to find him. Does any one have any idea of what happened to him ?
