If Disney opened a 3rd water park what theme would you like best?

I love this topic!

How 'bout a frontier-themed water park, themed to a flooded desert and town in the Wild West? Featuring scenes from/inspired by the Western River Expedition, a river raft water slide, lots of waterfalls and geysers, maybe AA animals. It could be like the desert-version of Blizzard Beach!

Maybe a coral reef/oceanic water park, where guests feel like they've entered the undersea world and have become the size of a fish, with giant coral reefs and anemones. Maybe even a shipwreck. WDI could have a lot of fun with this one, with lots of possibilities for surreal scenery and underwater effects.

Or, recreate Neverland as a water park (in smaller scale, of course), It could have a Pirates area, with a ship full of water effects and water cannons; a mermaid area with lots of waterfalls and a lazy river; the Lost Boys treehouse with water slides and climbable-ladders; a Native American area to eat at... lots of possibilities here.

Or just build the never-realized Lava Lagoon planned for Disneyland Paris.

You're ideas are really fantastic! My only concern, however, is the 'constant fog to limit visibility'... With all of the negative press the water parks have gotten lately because of some inappropriate guests, I would recommend NOT having limited visibility...:lookaroun

I was starting to think this myself, maybe instead of fog they could put color changing lights in the floor to cive the illusion of alien color changing water.

Wasn't this PoTC Water Park on the back burner or something?

Or something.

Conceptualized, but that's about it.
Ah, you don't know the magic of Typhoon Lagoon, the greatest Water Park ever made...

"A Furious Storm once rushed past the Sea, catching ships in it's path, helpless to flee, but instead of a certain and watery doom...the winds swept them here, to Typhoon Lagoon."

WDI at it's 80's Pleasure Island/Studios best.
:D

(I need to stop procrastinating and whining about not liking water slides and how I don't like being wet to enjoy a day at Typhoon Lagoon again... I love the place. )
Meh. Water parks don't do it for me. Even Disney ones....I'm sure the theming is great, though.

I love the water parks but they are way too crowded, just like how the MK used to be in the 70's and 80's. There are some good ideas on here.

i like the Greek/Roman ruins/Atlantis theme.

I don't want a third water park, but if there was to be one my idea would be "Pacific Islands".

"Built on a series of Hawaiin islands" there would be a volcano built as the central hub which would contain a series of lava slides and a vert slide through the centre of the volcano. There'd also be a black, volcanic sand beach and a white sand beach with palm trees where there'd be a series of polynesian themed events (the nightly luau etc)...

The Pirates one could be interesting, but I'd prefer something along the lines of the lost city of Atlantis. The theme could be that after all these years the Lost City of Atlantis has risen from the depths and we're exploring it.

I'm sure a POTC park would be nice, but do we really need another water park? There's already five in Orlando, with a sixth in Tampa. As for an Atlantis-type park, there's already two Atlantis attractions in Orlando.

Thos are only attractions not parks and the majority of people who go to WDW do not visit the other parks in the area.

The bus stopped in front once....:lookaroun:lol:

Nope, and honestly, I don't plan on going. Not a big fan of pools. Or the beach. Or swimming with other gross people. :lookaroun

I had the same idea! I called it "Western Waters". The Icon would be this Big Thunder-ish Mesa with a large waterfall running down it's peak. The story being is that Western Waters was the driest part of America west of the Rocky Mountains, and even though it was rich in Gold and Silver Ore, the place was dry, rocky, and "Hotter then the Devil's Boots". The Train Rails? Bottomed out and surrounded by dusty hills from sand storms.

Hopeless, the Township went to the local Indian Tribe, and in a last resort, called upon their "Magical Powers" to bring the rain to Western Waters. For Seven Days and Nights, the sound of dancing and ceremony was heard on the top of the Mesa, then silence...The Tribe had vanished. Thinking they'd been swindled, they sat in dry agony. Until the skies opened up! For Two Whole MONTHS, it rained and rained! The rain washed out the town. Flooded the railroad tracks. Flooded the mines, Flooded the Mesas, Flooded the whole darn desert!

Now the Mesa is a waterfall, and wouldn't you know it, Western Waters is actually wet! Soon people from all over the country headed west...But not for Gold! But to swim the wild Western Waters.

I had some neat ideas too...There's all these swim up bars and snack counters in new Water Parks, and the idea was to actually have a pool that's essentially the start of the Lazy River, and has an entire ghost town street that's half submurged...So you could actually float into this saloon and order drinks and such.

It's really a great idea, and I love the notion of a western-victorian-turn-of-the-century water park.

Only design issue I came across was landscaping, when you want lots of shade and such. Blizzard Beach was a big help in the "look" of landscaping the park.

Me too, and I have a deathly fear of drowning. Even had a close call as a kid at Typhoon Lagoon.

Even perfectly traumatized , I used to be going there like every week...It's the slice of heaven at Disney World

Do yourself a favor and go once! There's no need to ride the Water Slides (I never have) but the Story and Theme will stick with you for the rest of your life. And you don't know the meaning of the world relaxing until the end of the afternoon, and people are clearing out, and you're just floating along the Lazy River (This is the big attraction, so good it's all you come for.) Let the people in your party go and ride the rides, just sit on a nice chair...Read a book...Then hop back in the Lazy River for a few more hours and let the world go by...

It's story and theme are what makes it a must visit.

Miss Tilly is still one of the best icons WDI has ever made. Like I said, worth a visit. Theme, Music, Landscaping. I didn't even ride the attractions at all (Lazy River) and I still visited hundreds of times and call it one of my favorite parks. If anything, it's a testament to WDI making a great park. No need for attractions at all!

Blizzard Beach is also Fantastic, but is more of sprawling and over the top, and all Typhoon Lagoon fans should enjoy it too...Typhoon Lagoon is the one you fall in love with however.

Even for a non-swimmer like me who hates water.

If it were cheaper, or if I were richer, sure.

If I have money for another day at Disney, I'm either going to MK or EPCOT (Depending where I went the day before. :lookaroun:lol:) Then, with 3rd day, comes Studios and DAK. :D
