Ok well since there are rumors that MTTF could close as early as 10/01/10 I thought there should be a thread dedicated to Staland, BD Land, and Toon Town Fair.

Please share your memories, pictures and stories from these lands.

I will always remember this playground.

And also who could forget Minnie Moo

I don't have pics now, but supposedly, my first visit to the Starland was back in 1994. The first trip I clearly remember was 1998, the first year of TTF. Everything was more festive and clean! Characters everywhere, the lines were interestingly long and you could go in Mickey's bedroom, I think. :lookaroun

Minnie Moo had unique spotting. . . but tell me again why it was a good idea to bring a petting zoo to the Magic Kingdom? I always thought she could have had a better place at Fort Wilderness for anyone who wanted to pet a cow or a sheep or a goat.

The picture I posted is actually her from Fort Wilderness so I asume she was eventually moved there.

I remember seeing Birthdayland when I was sevenish. Never went back during the Starland phase.

Even if it wasn't all that impressive as a permanent addition (to the extent that 21 years can be considered permanent), the fact that Disney built a whole land just to promote Mickey's 60th is pretty cool, in retrospect. Hard to imagine something like that happening today.

I know my parents have postcards and pics of the MK during Mickey's 60th. That first logo was prominently displayed everywhere!

The candles in front of the train station, the Birthdayland Express, Main Street signs, etc.

You would think they could've done this as Mickey was 50 back in 1978. :lookaroun:zipit:

Surely if you're a college student now you were young enough to like Barnstormer in 1995?
Never been a roller coaster person.
Wow when something in WDW is not your favorite you really do avoid it Evan.
You speak the truth.

(Not really, I have my "less than liked" attractions that I still frequent...*looks at Nemo, Stitch, Tiki Room*...:lol)

So, you didn't even bother to get out of your stroller?
Nah, I was walking. I remember trying to move things in Mickey's House.

Fun thread! Nice to see these old pictures. Minnie Moo was so cute!

I have vague memories of little store or house fronts, sort of like Main Street style, and being so disappointed I couldn't go inside! Not sure if it was Birthdayland or Starland, but does anyone have a photo?
