I am typing this from the Beach Club as I have my morning coffee.

A couple things I have heard/seen from cast members this week at WDW:

- The skyway demo is mostly complete, and they are already building steel stud walls in the bathrooms. It almost looks like they might have an observation deck with railings on the bathroom roof, but that is just a guess. - I will miss the waterfall...

- Space Mountain has that "new attraction smell" at least. The track and railings seem to have fresh grey/silver paint on them- Much of the little area of structure I could see looked new to me. I think I would be dissappointed if they changed too much, so I don't think I will be - It looks like it will be the same ride, only slicker, smoother, and probably MUCH more reliable.

- A cast member at Star Tours told me that the re-do of the attraction was much more than just reprogramming the simulators, and new film. They said the whole attraction was to be cleared out and re made. Could this mean all new simulators?

- Expedition Everest - Yeti is still in "Disco" mode, no bird at top, and mist not working. Cast member said they had given up thier efforts to fix the yeti for the year, and they would fix him next year, along with an overall refurb. They didn't say how long the closure might be.

- Magic Kingdom is looking good - All of the work/rehab stuff is well disguised, and most of the effects on everything that is open seems to be working well. Brer Rabbit was hopping, and Davy Jones was present.

- Luxo Jr. seems to be back in form, and was performing every 15 min.

- I would LOVE to see ALL of the projection go digital - Muppets, Philarmagic, HISTA are showing thier age...

Can't wait to see what they officially do to the skyway building! And I hope they don't redo the ST queue... I really like how it is.

Thanks for the report!

Good stuff, thanks for doing this. :D

As for the bolded:

Love the idea of a Deck/Lookout. Perhaps part of the rumored restaurant everyone is talking about.

Certainly hope that that is how SM turns out. I'm glad it smells like work in there.

refurb for E:E!?!? WOW! That's crazy...They would loose a TON of needed capacity for DAK. However, the attraction does need it, and hopefully they do realize this.

Yeah, I was wondering the same thing but AK did exist before EE!

I'm not buying this one. Not saying that you're lying, just that the CM was uninformed.

There's almost no way EE will close for an extended period of time. That will kill DAK. Not that I'm saying I don't want it to happen, I just don't see it.

True. But they had various capacity issues, I think.

Yes. That deserves that many ROFLOL smiles.

But seriously, don't do it. I don't want to celebrate Intergalactic-National Don't Kill a Yeti Day.

Oh yeah! Now excuse me while I go ride the Hurricane. :p
That thing freaks me out...

Currently in Dade...Maybe I will hit up Dolphin Mall for the WDW Outlet.

And wow, are we OT!:dazzle::lol:

So....DAK! Anyone think that they might take EE down for a week or two, and do the rest of the work 3rd shift?

It freaks all of us out... Because it's SO well themed! Look at the rotting wood! That's completely the effect of a hurricane!

So... Yeah, DAK... If they do take DAK down, they better promote the hell out of CTX.

Exactly. Rotting wood= I won't ride. And...I havn't been there in years.

True...CTX would need to take the load. The thing is, it needs fixing too.

DAK honestly needs something new....and not because it's stale, because of capacity.
