Didn't have the potato and leek soup but noticed it on the menu and now my mouth is watering.
Didn't even have any appetizers that night. Too many Black and Tans instead!
Gotta love The Black and Tans!!!
But the leek and potato soup is unreal!!! Creamiest soup i ever tasted, pure heaven!
Tough to eat a steak after it though, its v filling!

Had a drink called "the snake bites back." It was half hard cider, half pub ale and then black currant juice. Very yummy! That was from Nathan!

The DH and I were there for our wedding in March. We had a lunch ressie for Rose & Crown 2 days before the wedding. The family behind us overheard our conversation about our upcoming wedding at the pavillion and told us congratulations. We said thank you and talked a few about the wedding and then ordered the fish and chips and shepards pie. Both were absolutely delicious. Upon arrival of our bill, we noticed it had been paid for in full. We had planned on using our TS for this meal. Our CM told us that the family that was sitting behind us picked up our bill as a gift for our wedding. We were so touched by the gesture, I began to tear up. The CM nformed us that it was their last day and they were leaving in the morning and had several TS left over and wanted to pay for our lunch. It was the most touching thing that someone had done for us. We will never forget that lunch and the nice family from Connecticut. Thank You if you are out there!!!! We decided in return to give our CM a lovely gift for his service. He was the best!!!

Love it. It is not the absolute best but it is far from the worst and not having to defend your territory for an hour is a big plus.
