A little chuckle, a little head shake

I knew only my WDWMagic peeps would fully understand/appreciate the madness of this...

Long story short, an old friend from high school noticed via facebook that we would be in WDW at the same time (next week). We haven't seen eachother in about 7 years, so we thought it would be fun to get together for dinner one night.

While we were facebooking back and forth about where we wanted to meet, she said, "i am making dining reservations for our stay sometime tomorrow or wed. will holler at you." and i was like "say wha......???"

They're on the dining plan during "free dining madness month", are leaving for WDW this Saturday the 5th, and they're just now making reservations. I asked her if she knew that you could make reservations 90 days in advance, and she said "yeah...I just didn't feel like doing it until now" So I was like well, good luck with all that.

It's one thing if you're anti-reservations/anti-planning and enjoy vacationing with no strings attached...but to wait until 3 days beforehand to book reservations...yikes! :brick:

They're not going to get anything... too bad for them. I made four or five when my 90 day window opened. The others I didn't make at first because we hadn't planned out the rest of our trip. I waited maybe 10 days. I was able to get almost everything I wanted but still couldn't get all the times I wanted. I've gone online over the past week or so to see if any of the times I originally wanted were now available. Almost every restaurant is completely booked. Our trip begins Sept. 25th. I have a feeling they are going to have some big problems!!!

Poor Morocco. It's so sad how it faithfully pops up with availability at the online ressie center whenever you can't get in somewhere else in EPCOT (*cough* Le Cellier)

It makes me think of that Sandra Boynton book "But Not the Hippopotamus"....poor Hippopotamus...


We we made all our ADR's months ago, so I think I'll just tell her I'm going to call and add them to one of our existing ressies.

Is this their first trip to Disney? Hopefully food isn't that important to them because it sounds like lots of counter service for them.

It will be a lesson learned.

I know when our 90 day window arrived I was on the phone 1st thing in the AM and I still had to days that I could not get what i wanted, so I had to keep checking back, but finally something opened for both and we were able to get what we wanted but that was at the 85 days window.
