Hello everyone! Long time reader- first post ever!! My family and I are taking our first trip back to Disney World in quite a few years for Thanksgiving this year. We have the Disney Deluxe Dining plan and are looking for a great place to go for Thanksgiving. Any expert recommendations are greatly appreciated!

Depends on where you're going to be on Thanksgiving day. At MK-Liberty Tree Tavern, but make your ADR asap!

I agree. They have a meal called "The Pilgrim's Feast" that includes traditional Thanksgiving food. Also, the decor is very pleasant for a holiday meal. :slurp:

I agree with the Liberty Tree. It will be a great atmosphere for the holiday. But you need to get in and make ADR's asap. I have a funny feeling it is a busy place during the holidays....

As far as the theme parks go, I think Liberty Tree would be your best bet. AK and EP feature more ethnic foods in their sit down restaurants so I don't even know if they would offer a traditional Thanksgiving dinner. Most of DHS restuarants are themed also. The only one that might be worth checking into would be The Brown Derby.

Another idea is to check out the restaurant at the resort you are staying at (or at other resorts). We were in Disney for Thanksgiving in 1995 and we had Thanksgiving dinner in the restaurant in our resort. That might be a more quiet, laid back atmosphere, depending on what you're looking for.

Have fun planning, that's half the fun!

Liberty Tree has the most "traditional" meal available for Thanksgiving but other places are offering a Thanksgiving themed dinner too. We have reservations @ Chef Mickey's for that day and they are serving turkey, stuffing and all the other goodies too. Unless my memory deceives me, most of the table service restaurants will have it available; at least they did in the past.

The place that comes to my mind would be Trails end @ FW.

We are going to be there during Thanksgiving also.:sohappy:

Only problem I might see with this would be if you are spending the day at MK, leave to go to FW, then when you return the crowd level require a park closure and you may not be able to get back in.

I can advise you to AVOID 1900 Park Faire for Thanksgiving dinner. Turkey was very, very, very dry, reheated turkey breast roasts and no pumpkin pie to speak of at all. Very bizarre setup and no traffic flow at the buffet, just congestion.

Odd to spend Thanksgiving dinner eating chilled strawberry soup . . . tasty, but just not the same.

Mini pumpkin cheesecakes are not a proper substitute for pumpkin pie!!!

We went to Mickey's Backyard BBQ for Thanksgiving day. It was a special menu with entertainment and characters.

Located in the same area as Hoop-De-Do at Ft. Wilderness.

Tks.
