So i finally received my MNSSHP tickets in the mail yesterday:sohappy:. As excited as i was to get them, i could not help but feel a little dissapointed too. What gives with the generic looking tickets? I thought they would make a great item to put in our trip album, being my daughters first trip...we could put park maps, tickets, pictures, etc. But they were very generic, one was purple with Pluto on the front, one was Minnie on the front....neither of which had any mention of Halloween, or any theming of Halloween at all. Didn't even mention the party!? Do they do this with all of their special ticket events? I know i'm just nitpicking at this point, and i'm still going to have a blast, just found it odd they couldn't put together a little more involved ticket.

When I went to Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party in November '07 the tickets weren't themed. One had Mickey, Goofy and I believe Donald in the Teacups and the other had Cinderella and Princes Charming on them. They weren't themed to the party though.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong since the last time I've gone was in 2007. The tickets I got I do remember them being black/grey and printed on the back was Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween with the specific date of the party. I can't remember if the characters on my tickets were "dressed-up" for Halloween though.

I don't think they have done specific tickets since they started scanning tickets at the gate. (Older hard ticket events had specific tickets, and were then hand stamped with the date they were used) Now a days the computer can just grab 4 tix for a MNSSHP, and then 2 for a MVMCP w/o having to think about grabbing from a different tray or anything when processing orders.

We've gone since 2004 and have never had a specifically themed ticket for MNSSHP. We were disapointed as well for a short time initially, but quickly got over it as the parties have been great and we buy the kids and ourselves a frame, pin, or plush as a souvenir to remember the event.

Good to know durango. Yes we'll end up getting something to remember the event. Just found it a bit odd. I mean, Disney makes a killing on these events right? You figure how much extra would it cost them to make a nice ticket with some theming on it? I digress though, i can't wait for the event.... we have dinner at Crystal Palace before that, and off to the party! Should make for a wonderful day all together!

Hi Guys I know what you mean, I was a bit disappointed myself. Back in 06' when me and my DH went to the MNSSHP we had themed tickets and they were so cool, now all we got were Goofy and Donald we're going for two days and got the same darn tickets 2 times :( .....what gives....

Don't feel so bad. My 2007 Not So Scary Party ticket was of the Incredibles. Still, though, they were in costume. At least you got a ticket and you get inside to one of the best "private" parties the Magic Kingdom has to offer -- Hallowishes, Boo To You parade, trick or treating, seeing an assortment of characters dressed up, and seeing all the awesome Halloween / fall decorations (big hot air balloon characters).

Have a great time! I've got a ticket for the Christmas party this year.

Yeah me too!! YOu saying this brings to mind why MNSSHP are hard plastic cards and Annual passholder cards are paper does that make sence? But the cards you recieve in the mail (the temp ones) are hard plastic as well....Is there a reason for this? To me I would think your being a AP holder you would use it much more than say a day ticket such as MNSSHP...

Just to reiterate...

I have gotten tickets twice for this event, both last year and the year before...once pre-ordered through the mail and once at the gates and neither time were they special for the party. They were the same kind of ticket they use on a regular basis.

The hard plastic cards are actually less durable the paper (actually mylar) stock that APs are printed on. The hard plastic cards tend to demagnetize easier, they are prone to cracking and the printing will rub off very easily.

Nope...got the same ones for mine. If you want a momento, that's where you take a park map. They put out special park maps for the MNSSHP and MVMCP and they even had them for the P&PP a couple years ago.

This post just made me so happy that we got tickets to this. Halloween is my sister's favorite holiday (and one of mine), and we are excited to go. And I'm going to dress up. :)

Best of luck and I'm sure you will enjoy the evening. And as you might have read on other threads -- enter the park at around 4pm, but make sure you get your wristband. The party is open from 4pm-midnight / 1am.

Take it all in. The Magic Kingdom transforms itself btweeen 4-7pm and the night magic ensues. And when you leave for the night you might see this. It's amazing what Disney can do ...

Heading for the great escape.
Sometimes you have to remember that Disney has a duty to share holders before it has a duty to customers. By standerdising tickets mugs etc, Disney will have really slashed production and distribution costs. A small drop in variety and qualty is simply the price for making sure shareholders are satisfied. After all the guests must be given attendance and comments on line. And Im sure the drastic drop in merchandise sales is a little exagerated.
