Dead Monsters?

See the second paragraph of my post that you quoted. They are the ones that said "so we get FL instead of MI." I'm only going along with that, wondering how one would pick MI over FL if forced to choose only one. Even if you would prefer a coaster, in looking at it from the perspective of which is better for the parks, I think FL wins by a mile.

I know a lot of people hate Meet and Greets, but take a look at the lines for Pixie Hollow and the Judge's Tent. These are bona fide attractions to some people and the waits reflect that. Just because they don't appeal to you doesn't mean they shouldn't exist. If that were the case, we would have a tough time advancing the argument that Pleasure Island should have remained. Not everything at WDW is going to appeal to everyone. I don't think it should. To that end, I don't think it's unreasonable to have more meet and greets in the Magic Kingdom.

Well, all I really said was "Bingo" because I agreed with what the poster was saying (from my point of view). IMO, it shouldn't be one or the other because you can have both for that price tag if you spend wisely. I don't like the one or the other mentality.

Are meet and greets actually being added though? Princess, Pixie, etc meet and greets already exist in Toon Town. In fact, we're losing the Fab 5 meet and greets (which will likely be relocated...somewhere...) The meet and greets are just being moved around and put into nicer buildings.

I think WDWFigment has the right idea. We all want new and exciting concepts/rides added to Disney, but bashing each other isn't going to help. My belief is that everyone is not trying to discredit the 'insiders' here; it's more that we are upset with the news. We shouldn't "shoot the messenger."

Everyone wants desperately to have a Monsters Inc Coaster added to DHS because it is in serious need of other attractions for better balance. All that being said it has received TSM over the last year or so. I don't remember the last new attraction MK has had in the last several years so in reality it is due.

I have no problem with Disney's decisions as long as they are improving and moving forward every year with the parks in Florida. I also don't believe that Disney is even trying to compete with Potter/IOA and have their own 'method of madness' they are trying to accomplish.

DHS is getting ST2. Nobody has tried to or disagreed with or called into question 74's information. MI is delayed until Monsters 2 debuts. A wise decision. Nothing to see here really except wise management decisions.

Because they want MI to debut with Monsters 2?

DHS is getting ST2.

Why? A PIXAR movie doesn't need the extra marketing hype nor would a new attraction at DHS. Perhaps we should have waited until next year for Toy Story Mania to open with Toy Story 3:shrug:

We could have both. ST2 is more of a refurb/upgrade than a new attraction, but I'll definitely enjoy it like it is a new attraction.

Let's say this is true, and it may be... That would fall in line with the company line that they want attarctions to open in concert with the release of the movie.. So, I see this as a possibility...

You lumped yourself with the D&G's, not me. I didn't say everyone I multi-quoted was a doomer. You just asumed. I was making the point that this thread was coordinated ahead of time and it obviously was.

MI being delayed will likely be a positive thing in the long run. But 74 and conundrum couldn't wait to get on these boards and spin it as an anti-management rant and to stir people up, especially the AC people. He knows how to channel their anger to his will.

Wait to find out the facts. That is the only reasonable thing to do.

Excellent point. The only thing I can really think of against that, is perhaps the MI Coaster will be themed more to MI2 than it will be to MI1./random

But was it not Lassetter, maybe Iger, I forget, who said they want new rides based on new movies to premier along with the movie??? If that is the case, then MI coaster, if happening at all, could be the first to open like that... Not saying that is the case, but, it is a good possibility... Slim, but good lol..

Thanks. Star Wars will have a live action TV series in a couple years. Monsters 2 should be out in 2012 or 2013. So it does have a bit of logic to it.

When Iger talks "franchises" that is exactly what he means.

You are D&G now too?? Welcome to the club!!!!

Apparently when he calls you a D&G you aren't one. So, I guess I'm not now. :veryconfu

Well, just reading it now, I should have guessed that not all the proposed ideas would be fulfilled... :brick:

ST2, MIRC, FL expansion...

Oh well... guess time will tell.

jt, I will disagree with you about 74... I'm sorry, but I don't think he was spinning it as D&G for WDW.... I take it as him reporting, like so many others on here do, of something he heard... It is just that he has more knowledge than a lot of the other so-called insiders (lee and martin excluded since they provide great and accurate info) on here...

Umm, if I'm not mistaken 2012 is essentially two years away. By your logic, ST2 will be opening soon, to coordinate with a live action TV show that will be on the airwaves in a couple years. If Monsters 2 is slated for release in 2012 or 2013, shouldn't they build the ride in 2010, or 2011? I'm not following. Both the star wars tv show and monsters 2 will be premiering at essentially the same time, but the rides won't?
