Am I the one who thinks Mysterious Island at AK is a BAD idea?

Sorry, but in my own honest opinion, Mysterious Island just doesn't belong in AK. You may say "BUT IT HAS ANIMALS!" and it fitting the mythological section, but still, they were invented in books, not legends, like unicorns or dragons. Heck, the novel JTTCOTE didn't really have no mythological animals, just prehistoric ones I think. The imagineers just invented the creatures in the ride, and from what I know, the monster in 20,000 Leagues was a sea squid, a creature that is known to exist. Also, I would prefer for them to make an original ride, not one based on books.

Sorry if you want MI, but this is my two cents, so...

Unless I missed something, when did Animal Kingdom get something called Mysterious Island or mythological section?

But great sounds like fun to me.

The Yeti is not real and they have one, it is not a crime to use ones imagination.

I am not so sure about the Yeti not being real :o.

Mysterious Island is something that could be coming to DAK in the near future if the ecenomy gets better. It is a clone from a themed land in TDS.

While I agree that MI is not necessary in DAK it would still be a cool addition if done right.

If you don't know, MI is a land from Tokyo Disney Sea, based on Jules Verne's novels.

For some reason, it's been long rumored to be placed at AK, instead of Beastly Kingdom. :S Also, they never made the yeti. The yeti was, like dragons, born from legends.

Rest assured, there are certain proposals to ensure MI would fit into DAK instead of being a verbatim copy.

Should it happen.

Yes, yes you are. Honestly, I think it would be incredible. Just take a look at what Tokyo DisneySea has. If they were to make a similar venture (they would have to, Legal issues) it would be great.

It would not be a clone, in thematics, and in quality, the latter of course pending on TDO/Burbank/whatever.

I doubt it would be a direct clone because of the legal issues.

Oh, that's good to hear. :D Do you know of any of the changes? I heard most would be to 20K.

Still not really convinced. Unless it would also feature animals like dragons and unicorns, then ok, but if it's just creatures from JV's stories...no.

Also, seeing as the unicorn over at IOA is most likely being rethemed to the Griffion, I think the unicorn could use a job.

Don't worry, I pretty much agree with you.

1: Don't think the awesomeness of it fits with DAK's awesomenss.

2: I think Forbidden Mountain and Tree of Life works best as the big icons.

3: It wouldn't be nearly as good as everything Tokyo has.

But the balance issue...:D;)

See I think a third object would throw Tree of Life outta balance. Tree, Mountain, just fine...

And Animal Kingdom is all about the relationship between Animals and Humans, EVERY story at DAK, EVERY detail supports that story. Mysterious Island is about the world of science, steam, and Jules Verne, as well about the Ocean. Yes, there are animals, but it's just too distinctly perfect for DisneySea that I just can't see it working well in this country, at this time.

The same reason other concepts are, they decided not to use it.

It's time to move on.
For a fanboy!? NEVER!:fork::ROFLOL:

Think Triangle.;):D

And really? I'm disappointed in you! Science, steam , and Sea Creatures go well.:D

On the Sea Creature angle...I wonder if they ever considered a Living Seas esque area...:lookaroun:D
