All EPCOT Center, All the Time- Part II

I rode WoM when I first went when I was four, but I don't remember much from it. I do remember going on the original UoE, but all I remember was the dinosaurs. When I took my second trip when I was six, I clearly remember going on the original JII, so I'm glad I got to experience that. I don't know why we never went on Horizons when it was clearly open, which is a shame.

Yep. Rode it many times...

I also got to see the original Journey, World of Motion, Kitchen Kabaret and Food Rocks, Universe of Energy before Ellen invaded, and The Living Seas... I don't remember what versions of SSE I saw though... Jeremy Irons version sticks out more than the others...

Same here. Although I will admit that UoE's Memory is a little fuzzy. I do remember the Dinos and the song, though.:lol: It must have not made as much as an impact as the others did.

I even remember being there when they were just starting to build Disney-MGM Studios... I wasn't there for the groundbreaking, but I did see the cleared land before much of anything was even built... And, on another trip, I rememebr the billboard for Copperfield's restaurant planned for the park...

I look back to then, and see things now, and I start thinking how times have changed...

The dinosaurs and the songs stand out.. Plus, my father workled for Exxon so we got to sit int he Exxon Lounge, skipping the queue... That was nice... As much soda as you wanted.... Air conditioned room... TV... you name it.. LOL...

Geez, I was a teenager back then.... I really can't remember... All I remember is he had to show his employee ID to the Cast Member and she led us up to the lounge... I think there were a few offices in there too... I have to go back to see if I have pictures of the lounge.. Doubt it though...

I miss it too. I miss the days when I rode attractions like Horizons/WoM, and left the park feeling inspired and excited about what the future will bring.

Where is the Lounge?

The lounge is on the opposite side of the exit to the right (next to WoL). You have to walk down a small path to reach it. If memory serves me right, the lounge overlooks the Dinorama.

Jason, it is possible it does over look the dinorama... I just remember being fascinated with some of the stuff in the lounge and not looking out any windows that may have been there...

All this reminiscing really has me missing the 25th anniversary display. My family grew up going to Disney World, and seeing my (at the time) 30 year old autistic brother in there, loving the classic music is something I'll always remember.

Yeah. Guess what. August of 1982. My parents declined the offer on all our behalfs not to go and do the preview center nor take the monorail loop through the almost complete park.

We are on speaking terms again. Just.

That's also why I've suggested "fixing" the Spaceship Earth Descent as follows:

Most non-fanboys seem to enjoy the descent, the problem is with the fanboys.

Show the Jib-Jab esque images from surrounding vehicles on flat screens (or the triangles) outside of the vehicle. More often than not you're not going to be riding with just the person next to you, so you'll want to see the other people in your party. Not everyone knows about the post show ability to send your video home so this will help achieve that purpose.

Have an instrumental version of Tomorrow's Child playing in the background.
