This gets me to wondering, this refurb must be good if they have "secret plans". You certainly don't need plans to know where to stick the mighty putty.:lookaroun

How do you know it was plans and not just... any piece of paper?

Good point!

I still think, though, the story is an embellishment at best. I just don't buy that an imagineer wearing a hard hat and carrying "secret" Space Mountain plans is going to be walking through guest areas. That would be incredibly bad show, among other things. :hammer:

Okay, first let me say that I didn't know for a fact that they were SM plans (hence why I put this in the General Discussion area) and I should not have written that. I sincerely appologize if you or anyone else has felt misled, hoodwinked, and/or bamboozled.

HOWEVER it happened and if you would like to call me a liar, please feel free. You will not bother me one bit!

Well what do ya know?? As suspected, it WAS an embellishment. I wonder what other parts of your story you're going to come clean about... Maybe he wasn't wearing a hardhat, but it was a Disney ball cap? Maybe it was actually just another tourist and was not an imagineer at all? :hammer:

Think she was just having a little fun. I knew she was just telling a story and was just sorry she didn't see what he had in the bag. :wave:We're all excited to see what SM is going to look like.

Are you really surprised by anything 86 posts?

Hey, I thought you and I were friends! :animwink:

Seriously, you don't honestly believe her story do you?? I mean she already changed her story from saying the "imagineer" had secret Space Mountain plans to saying it was just a piece of paper and she really didn't know what it was. That's gotta make you wonder what other details she embellished. How did she even know for sure it was an imagineer? Did he have a t-shirt that said, "Imagineer" on it?? :hammer:

Not really. That sort of things happen, trust me.
This coming from someone who ate a burger on the patio at Restaurantosaurus with an Imagineer who had in his posession at the time both a hard hat (the nice maroon/gold ones) and a portfolio full of Everest materials.
:D

Seriously...it happens more than you would think. (Imagineers carrying around...umm...sensitive materials, not me eating with them. That's pretty rare.:lookaroun)

I do. I know Shelley on a more personal level than this website, and I trust her.

I can also say that I've seen the same things. The people in question usually wear something with the WDI Logo (nametag usually) on it and are carrying papers. End of story.

God forbid we tell people about it...:lookaroun:lol:

I'm to tired to post anymore...Gnight, Gents!

You say you trust her, but she already admitted to having lied about the papers being plans for Space Mountain. I'm not making this up and accusing her of something...she admitted it. Of course, she only did so after being pressed, but until then, she allowed everyone here to believe her story and to even "defend" her. I would say your trust might be slightly misplaced my friend.

I think we can all recognize when a person take artistic license for the sake of making a post more "fun" as opposed to trying to lie.

It was pretty clear that she did not know what the guy had. Even if it was SM plans, chances are it was just a subset of the plans. It could have been something as exciting as detail drawings for roof scuppers.

I don't think anybody takes magicmaya seriously when she says she is going to drop $5 so she can get a peek at plans, and I don't think anybody thought Shelly was trying to pull a fast one on us.

Bonus points to Phonedave for quoting my theme song (one of them, anyway).

Really?? 'Cause she sure didn't make it clear....

I look towards it and it is an Imagineer with his maroon hard hat walking towards SM with the plans hanging out of his bag...

And I don't think people's reactions were indicative of people who "knew she was just kidding", nor did she take any steps (until pressed) to clarify that she was. Of course, now that she's admitted she made it up, it's easy for people to say, "Obviously anyone could tell she was kidding."

The Internet: Serious Business

The moral of the story is, if you see somebody wearing official-looking accessories on their person, and contact is mistakenly is made with this person, and it looks like there are large rolled-up blueprints or diagrams inside an official-looking carrying bag—do not share your experience with others because how can you be so sure of what the plans were actually describing? Or who the person was?
