How many masks will we see on guests at Disney over the next couple of weeks?

Just thinking that this will probably become prevalent as swine flu spreads. I hope I'm wrong, but I have a feeling that this will be more than the bird flu or sars. I wonder if we'll start seeing people walking around the parks wearing surgical masks. It might not be such a bad idea, although it will look pretty funny in pictures. Maybe I can market some masks with Mickey, Donald, or Goofy on them:)

Hmm - Disney could sell masks that have ears glued on the straps and a picture of a mouse nose on the front. A good deal at just $29.95 each!
Sorry, maybe I should joke about such a serious matter, but I could see it happening. :)

lol, it's the most magical mask on earth!

I'm going in 2 weeks and not overly concerned (yet). I'm going to stock up on hand sanitizer & just be extra cautious.

According to the Orlando Sentinel, Disney resorts will be giving masks to guests that request them at the hotel lobby. This concerns me since we are heading to the world in 10 days!

If anyone can turn this into a positive, it's Disney. Happiest Pandemic on Earth, or some such campaign.

oh wow! seriously?? That kind of does concern me. I keep trying to not get wrapped up in this, because I'm a paranoid kind of person. If I let myself, I get worked up over anything.

WDWFreak53: What kinda masks should we get?? I'm going to bring stickers, just in case they don't have a tink mask!

Or maybe how will you celebrate your pandemic!

In all seriousness, my state just reported 10 new cases from students who went on a trip to Mexico. I am cutting Taco Bell out of my diet until we have the all clear!:)

I don't know why anyone is too worried about this. To me it seems like a great opportunity -- can you say Flu Pass. We leave in one week. I'm going to have my 3 y/o son get really close to the people in front of us and start coughing and saying that he feels sick, every time we're in line. Should turn those 90 minute waits at Toy Story into nothing at all.:D

Seriously. Yes it's a bad sickness, but it's treatable, and masks aren't going to help you. You still need to eat and drink and go to the bathroom.

Panicing and worrying isn't going to help you.

Not sure I see anyone panicing on this thread and masks aren't such a bad idea since a lot of people don't seem to understand common courtesy when it comes to covering their mouth when coughing or sneezing.

We leave in 2½ weeks :sohappy: and I am not any more concerned about getting sick than I usually am.

On a side note, I saw a picture of a guy in an airport with the mask down under his chin not even covering his mouth or nose, why bother?!

That's the forcefield mask. It just has to be near you to protect you, or maybe his reflexes are so awesome that he can raise the mask quickly when someone sneezes or coughs in his direction.
