DINOSAUR with lights on

so I was looking at some of the other clips of the rides with lights on. Is there that much of a difference between tracks on SM in WDW and DL?? I saw a couple of people with there hands up, I wouldn't think about putting my hands up in WDW, I like having them attached to my arms to much.

Just an observation and was wondering

It's very neat to see during one ride I rode the lights came on about 4 time..It's really neat how much work goes into making the magic.

The only similarity is the name and the fact it`s indoors. And you can`t hit your hands on anything.

WDW Space Mountain = DLR Matterhorn Bobsleds...more or less
I rode WDW Space Mountain in January and DLR Matterhorn Bobsleds in February and was surprised that the Matterhorn, though rough, was actually smoother than WDW Space Mountain...and its 16 years older!
Weren't Matterhorn and WDW SM both built by WED and Arrow? I'm not sure what other company (if any) partnered with WED on DL SM.

The two Space Mountains have nothing in common other than the look of the building and the name. The actual attraction inside is completely different.

I believe MK's Space Mountain is actually the same or very similar layout to DL's Matterhorn.

Thanks for clearing that up for me. I thought they were insane or very daring, but I guess its neither.

Time to schedule that trip out west to see what other differences between the two parks there are.....:lookaroun

Wow, Dinosaur just isn't the same with the lights on.
This just reinforces my opinion that's its basically "Jerky Ride Through Dark Prop Warehouse"...but I guess that doesn't have the same ring as "DINOSAUR". :lookaroun I still like it though. Just not nearly as much since I rode Indy at DL. I was kinda sad because I used to like Dinosaur so much.
The worst bit was driving past the carno that "chases" after you and the camera looks back and its just the torso up. I know that intellectually, but man it really ruins the whole effect psychologically.

We had it happen to us this past December, we road it twice and it stopped twice. First time the lights came on, and it was our vehicle that was the problme but they fixed it pretty quickly. Second time the lights didn't come on and they fixed it.

Interesting video! It's funny how there really isn't much to DINOSAUR. It's always cool to see what something seemingly small (lights on of off) can do for a ride.

Crap! I am unable to play the video, but I will keep trying. I'm so curious to see what it looks like...maybe it'll help me be not so jumpy while on the ride :p

WDW's Space Mountain is nothing like the Matterhorn in terms of layout.

SM used new technology also that didn't exist at the time for Matterhorn. SM used a blocking system, so was designed so that from any block break section, the trains could be pushed forward and complete the course no problem. Matterhorn did not have this and uses a ton of wheels to propel the trains at certain parts. If you were to turn off these wheels, the Matterhorn could not complete its course. It caused problems later when block sections were added to Matterhorn. If the trains E-stop in some bad places, a CM actually has to go and push the train over a hill so the train can finish.
