Yeah, how freaked out did he look on that last panel...
That last panel made the entire issue!

I flipped through one of the current Spider-books Saturday night. Without giving away too much, the basic idea is that Peter Parker's costume has been stolen, and he has to borrow a Daredevil outfit from Matt Murdock to do his hero thing.
It had some funny moments, like Murdock talking to Parker on the phone: "Sure, I get six calls from people claiming to be Spider-Man a week...and four from Iron Man...and occasionally two or three from Superman, which is impressive, considering he's fictional."
Later on, there's a splash page with Parker-Daredevil flying through the air and singing to himself, with some newly made-up lyrics to the old Spidey theme song: "Devil man, devil man, dares whatever a devil can," etc.
Anyway, I thought it was nice to see some of those goofy things that remind you why comics can be so fun when done well.
New Comic Day today! WOO HOO! :sohappy:
I assume you mean the Matt Wagner trade and not the current series since you say you're almost done. I just read that and liked it a lot actually, mainly because of the art and characterizations.I am about done with Trinity...it isn't going anywhere interesting.
Upon suggestion, I'm finishing Y tomorrow. Great run. There doesn't seem to be much left for the last TPB though? The whole getting back with his fiance thing doesn't do much for me.
But what's really got my engines going right now is Fables! LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT!!!!!!
Bigby is about as AWESOME as they come! I've finished Mean Seasons and am working on Jack's series now.
Also liked round 2 of Sinestro Corps much better than part 1.
Still waiting for the lates Ulitmate universe updates in TPB!
Can't wait to see how Apocolypse turns out in Ulitmate Xmen!

Ahh, gotcha. The current series...and what I mean is I am going to stop getting it. It isn't doing much for me.
After you all suggested Y, I liked the feel of the Vertigo very much. So I'm about to start After Midnight or whatever it is about the twins.I really loved Y The Last Man, it's such a great story and had lots of excitment, mystery and adventure around every turn. I won't say more until you finish the final trade though. Yorick is a great character. This was one of my favorite comics I discovered this year.
As for Fables, well, if you are enjoying what you are reading, all I can says is "You aint seen nothing yet!". Keep reading, you have some great stuff ahead of you. I am controlling myself not to reveal too much, but man, good stuff ahead! My favorite trade so far in it is the Homelands one, wait to you get to that. Bigby just rocks, one of my favorite characters.
The Jack book is good as well, a great companion piece to the main book. Keep me posted in this thread when you finish a new trade. The 1001 Nights of SNowfall hard cover trade is great as well.
Wait until you find out who the Adversary is. Won't say a word until you find out though.
I'm glad you are enjoying this book, it's one of my favorite comics ever and I love to hear people are enjoying it. What made you want to read it? How did you find out about it?
Ahh, gotcha.
If you haven't already, you might want to check out the Trinity trade (same Supes-Bats-WW concept, different story) if you like the idea of those 3 characters working together but just don't care for the execution in the current series. Matt Wagner really nails the interaction between them, for my money. I checked it out from the library a few weeks ago and loved it.
:lol:I actually have the three issue series.![]()
I was shocked and trilled by the Adversary. Especially how worried his "son" was about him. I wish we got more of the son before he became controlled. Rose and Snow have virtually changed roles through the thing. Seems don't know if it's intentional or they just didn't understand or spell out the characters from the beginning. My knowledge of the current Superman comics isn't too up to date I am afraid. I did read some of the Johns/Donner stuff and loved it. James Robinson is also writing a Superman book. His run on Starman is amazing. I love that book. It's about a son who reluctantly takes up the hero mantle after his father retires and his brother, who became the Starman, was killed in action. An excellent book. The great thing is that it is a super hero book while not falling to the normal rules of a super hero book.
What is great now in Fables is that the war with the Adversary is happening. It's been a great read so far. Did you see who the Adversary was all along or were you blown away from it?
Frau is an interesting character. There is more to her than she will let on. Even now 75 issues later we still don't know all there is to know about her. I think there are some interesting things ahead for her.
I should have known. You own every trade paperback story without owning a single trade, it seems like.
