recent reports say that the original Tiki Room will return in 2011 replacing the disgraceful one we have now.:sohappy: Also a refurb to Journey Into Imagination and a new IllumiNations.(I am hoping the latter is not true.:()

Hmm not sure about that.

Has there been a time where a attraction has gotten refurbed, only to return to original form some years later? I cant think of one off the top of my head....

The show has been running for a very long time and while it is simply an incredible, uplifting, tear jerking show pretty much everyone on the planet has seen it. Disney knows how good RoE is and I do not think that they will replace until they can top it.

At least I sure hope they don't.

OH I HOPE this is true! Would love for the old Tiki room to return! And for Journey to Imagination - they totally wrecked that ride! I won't go on it again unless they make it the way it was. Oh why they are at it how about Gran Fiesta, so bad now, how cheap is that of Disney to replace everything with cheap films! I hate that!

In Gran Fiesta Tour, they just swapped out the old videos for new ones. They didn't take away any set pieces, except for that spooky puppet-carousel thing at the very end of the ride. It's always been a video-based ride.

I wouldn't be surprised if they revamped the Tiki Room, but I'm not expecting the old show to come back. The big year for that was this one; Enchanted Tiki Room celebrated it's fiftieth anniversary over in California. Even that didn't get a very big celebration. 2011 is the park's fortieth anniversary, and Tiki Room has been a staple there since opening, but I don't think that would be enough of a reason for them to suck it up and bring the original back.

Journey into Imagination needs a lot of help. The unload area's pretty cool, though.

I don't really mind the Tiki Room as it is now.

I like the new version, too. It's not disgraceful in any way.

The old show is NEVER coming back to WDW--it was too unpopular there. And please be more respectful of it and the Imagineers that created the new version because they did do a great job of paying homage to the old show while updating it at the same time.

I think the new version of Tiki Room (under new management) stinks.. its loud and obnoxious. While I do most of the rides in Magic Kingdom multiple times every trip.. we always skip Tiki Room. But if it returned to something like the old version.. i would definitely start hitting that ride again.

It makes me wonder though.. if the imagineers who made the new version of Tiki Room (under new management) were the same as the ones who made the new version of Journey To Imagination. Because in both cases they replaced something that was sort of magical to something that was obnoxious. Like Figment turned from a cute and curious dragon to an obnoxious hyper brat. And the Tiki Room went from some cool birds giving some magical ambiance to a screaming yelling obnoxious mess.

Also like the new version. I liked it, but the old version was kind of boring. But the rest of my family (obviously the older) doesn't like either version.

They did do quite a bit of merchandise for its 45th anniversary recently and there was a rather large group of hardcore fans that went to the park to go on the attraction that day. So people do seem to have a fondness for this attraction.

I'm not one of the haters of the new recent Tiki room, I actually enjoy it. I understand people's disdain for it, just don't agree.

I think most of us forgot that BESIDES the theme song/introduction, the rest of the Tiki bird songs were painfully boring, which is a huge understatement.

While I love the idea of an original and classic attraction, sometimes something is brutally outdated and needs to be changed. I saw the original when I visited DL in 2002 and thought - WOW, this is boring to the Nth degree. A simple fact that most people who complain probably forget.

So while I would always welcome a "redo" on the current attraction, IF they bring back the original, it going to need to be updated with some sly humor or at least SOMETHING interesting, besides the main theme song.

I am so happy that the original Tiki Room is coming back:D!!!! I've actually never seen the original one live, but I have seen it on the Walt Disney Disneyland Treasure DVD's and it looks better than the newer one that we know of. It's about time they put something back in that was Walt's idea, they should of never changed it, it's a classic, they should of just left it alone. But im happy that its coming back, YEAH!!!!:)

I was able to see the original version in DL, and as a die-hard Disney fan, I really enjoyed experiencing it. However I think the majority of visitors would find the original quite bland by today's standards, and I imagine the imagineers will take that into consideration. It will be interesting to see what they come up with. I hope they have the "Let's all sing like the birdies sing" song, it's very cute.

It will only return if WDI gets the budget to include the attraction's upgrade under the 40th anniversary promotion. As of right now, its still a possibility, but it isn't likely.

The Enchanted Stitch Room will eventually take the place of the Under New Management show.
