What attractions do not run if it is raining?

Just based upon my experiences at the parks Test Track doesn't run while it's raining and neither does Everest - at least not while I've been there. I have seen Big Thunder Mt. closed during rain yet I was on it once during a light drizzle, same as Splash as we rode one right after the other. The Orbiter, Speedway, and Magic Carpets rides at MK were closed last year while it was raining.

Some of the people that go to the parks regularly will be able to give you better information but those rides are the ones I have expoerienced personally.

Other than that most of the attractions would operate during rain due to the fact they are mostly indoors.

Not old, just vintage.
Looks like my trip is going to be a rainy one, so I would appreciate any advice, thanks!!!

To the best of my knowledge very, very little closes down in the rain. I think Jungle Cruise *might* close if it gets too bad. I have been on Splash Mountain in the rain before. I think Big Thunder Mt. stays open in most. Astro Orbiter and Speedway in Tommorowland shut down though.

Epcot is one of the best places to be in the rain. Everything is enclosed except for Test Track.

Over in MGM, LMA and the Backlot tour are the only things I can think of that won't run in the rain.

The only park that is horrible in the rain is AK.

Most parades and nighttime shows will run in the rain. Fantasmic is the most sensitive though because of live actors, metal mountains, and lightening don't mix. I have seen Spectromagic in the worst downpour imaginable. Same with Illuminations.

Generally speaking, it's not rain that shuts down rides, but lightning. Things like BTMRR will run in rain, but if there's lightning too near by, they will stop until it clears.

Same with things like Tink's flight and Wishes. It's more lightning (and high winds for Tink) than if it's raining.

It also depends on if it's a shower or a torrential downpour, but it's the lightning you'll see close attractions.

Every attraction has different procedures. Most of these attractions don't necessarily close due to rain, but lightning instead. Also, a light drizzle and a huge, huge downpour...... it really just depends.

Is it 5:00 yet?
When we were at MK on Dec 15th for MVMCP it was pouring down rain and they still showed Wishes. The smoke from the fireworks was covering the castle because the wind was blowing it back. It was very strange to see the castle like that...

Test Track and EE were closed last year while we were there on 2 different days due to rain, there was no lightning it was just a steady rain. Not sure if there was another issue or not but that is unfortunately the way it was for us.

Anything that is even partially outdoors (with the exception of fireworks) will close if there is lightning within a certain radius. Test Track will close if someone sneezes in the wrong direction. As for rain, there seems to be some wiggle room. It depends on the attraction and the severity and duration of the rain. I've ridden both Splash Mountain and Kilimanjaro Safaris in light to moderate rain (by far the best time to ride KS is during rain--the animals love it, and the line is generally short). Fireworks (with the exception of Fantasmic!) will run in rain and lightning, but not high winds.

I have ridden Everest in the rain--everything has specific conditions that it won't run in. I have definitely taken the Backlot tour in the rain (reasonably heavy rain, even). Test Track is the only ride I know of that will close if there is any precipitation greater than the lightest of light drizzle (I have ridden it in drizzle but if it drizzles for too long, it'll close, too--just depends on how wet the track is getting). I have ridden Splash and Thunder in absolute downpours, and I have seen Wishes and IllumiNations during thunderstorms, though some of the effects are cut and Tinkerbell, obviously, does not fly on those evenings.

2 or 3 years ago my sons went on the astro orbiter while the wife and I waited on line for buzz. When all of a sudden the skies opened up  , we were lucky enough to be under the overhang. But they ended up taking a bath on the ride. My older son told me the cars were starting to fill up alittle with water. They did have holes but at the angle they were at the water wasn't draining out because the ride was going. To say they were soaked is putting it mild, safice it to say when the ride stopped the ride shut down.

I was on trying to go on Space Mountain once when it was raining and the cast member said the ride was shut down because of the weather. I figured he was joking.

 So true about Test Track. I lost count the number of times I'd walk from Casting to the entrance near TT and see cars sitting up on the track.

As for rain, the question has pretty much been answered. I will say there are times when its not raining and you can't see the lightning, but rides are shutdown because they've detected lightning within a certain radius of the park. Safety first! As for rain...I've actually ridden Test Track and it started pouring just before we got to the high speed test. Nothing like a refreshing needle bath to get the senses going.

Animal Kingdom is actually pretty good about rain... Primieval Whirl and TriceraTop Spin were both running during the rain, and I rode Expedition Everest three times during the pour as well. As long as there isn't lightning I can't think of anything that would close down in AK.

I was at Disney yesterday during an absolute downpour and thunder and lightning. It was fast moving, thankfully, but pretty much all of the rides stop during lightning. If you are on a ride and the power goes out, you're stuck there.

I was actually on the train and near Mickey's Toon Town when they stopped and had us get off because the weather got too bad. But basically, most things stop during lightning, just to be safe, although mostly outdoor attractions.

And of course, Dream Along with Mickey won't be running if it's downpouring.

Which, actually worked out fine on Sunday. The weather cleared up but I suppose the stage was still too wet, so they turned it into a quick firework show (the fireworks that end the show) and had Meet and Greet photo ops! It was awesome. I got great shots of Goofy/Donald, Snow White/The Prince, Cindrella/Prince Charming, Aurora/Prince Phillip Peter Pan/Wendy and Mickey and Minnie. So, if you're at Disney, pray it rains for this rare opportunity to have all of them there for photo ops. They didn't sign autographs though.
