A better PI

Yesterday, I believe, a thread was started about weather City Walk or PI is better. Quite a few people, even cast members, votes CW over PI. I agree that PI has gone downhill, but what could Disney do to improve PI, what kinds of clubs/resturants/activities should be added?

One idea that I thought of was maybe a salsa club. At DTD in California, they had a cuban resturant, maybe, that had fantastic performers and a live bongo like band. The stage was a half moon shape and moved up and down to the different floors of the resturant and when the performers were on break, the stage would become level with the bottom floor and people would come out and salsa....it was really cool and the decor was so festive and fun....I think that would be an awesome addition to PI...

But wouldn't a live salsa band interfere with the Salsa bands they have at Bongos? I think Gloria Estefan and her hubby would not be happy about that one. I think some of the upcoming improvements should help, like the Sosa Cigar/Wine bar. That will be a nice addition. I've missed the extensive upscale wine/spirits list that the Jazz club used to offer.

I didn't even know that Bongo's had a band. I've been in there 3 or 4 times and I've never seen one....but if they do, that is def. a good point.

I miss the jazz bar too....it was such a nice, relaxing place...

Bring back the West End stage and nightly celebration. Since it was removed we`ve decided we won`t be going back at night.

Here are a few things I came up with
A.bring back the stage/celebration
B. Make it all ages as long as your with a parent/guaridan(or AT LEAST 16 and up)
C. Make a country western club kinda like how the neon armidello was
D. Make some new clubs that appeal to the younger crowd
E. Make specials, that would bring lots of college kids from the local colleges
F. Make it both for the residents and the tourists
G. Make a club that couples that want to leave the kids at home, or don't have any with can go to let loose

What's with all the pink words around here? :veryconfu

Salsa at PI - would that be Pace Picante or that garbage from New York City?

I agree with this.

The first time we were at PI we didn't go to any of the clubs but did enjoy just walking around the street or watching whatever they had going on at the stage. We tried going back there last year and it just wasn't the same - even though it was neat to walk around with a beer, that just only goes so far.

The only additonal thing I can think of to make it better is to remove those construction walls and actually put something interesting in their place. I was never able to figure out how the construction walls fit the theme of PI?

Oh, that one is easy.

The walls looked like burlap sacks; similar to the sacks that carry manure, which is exactly what porta-potty row smelled like.

I’m sitting here thinking about PI improvements...again. I really do enjoy the rotating floor at Mannequins, the flash back of 8 Traks and the performers at The Adventurers Club....it just needs more.

What about a really modern/interactive coffee house. They could have really comfy sofas, fantastic art on the walls and interesting sculptures, games like scrabble, charades, maybe some Disney Trivial Pursuit, cool picture books on the coffee tables. You could get some amazing coffee, throw a little kahlua and cream in with it.

They could even have karaoke some nights, open mic nights some, maybe even hold art shows in there from time to time.

I think it would be a place locals would just go to hang with their friends, the CP kids would like it and I would think the tourist could also get into having a huge Disney Trivial Pursuit playoff....

What do you guys think?

PLEASE tell me you're a Cast Member. Because that is a GREAT idea for the coffee-shop that is *allegedly* planned for P.I. If you're a Cast Member, you should REALLY send your idea to Djuan. If you're not, you could always delete this post, pretend it never happened, and I could suggest it. :D
