Hmmmm Maybe it's something you should look into more someday. The Baby Einstein line is actually quite brilliant, from the challenging colors, to the thought stimulating books and puppets. They mix in childish fantasy with real world pictures to help children begin to establish the line between the two. Their products are great, I and several of my mom friends swear by them... I mean, people are going to entertain their children. Beit with stories, movies, toys, or anything else - children don't sit still.. they're contsantly moving and learning... why not help them on the road to learning? You of all people should understand that - your never ending thirst for knowledge should show you that the more books and information you present a child with the more they have the chance to learn. I don't require or force Liz to learn anything - but I certainly encourage her to. Just like I'm going to encourage her to take piano lessons next year and begin learning a second language shortly thereafter. Call it force feeding - but I find encouragement far better than the slack parenting role some take of whatever whenever let the school's handle it. That's just lazy parenting in my book.

I think that sounds about right! For me, my first would watch Baby Einstein and it allowed me a few minutes to change clothes/do dishes/etc. My second has never looked at the television, its as if it doesn't exist.

Good to hear! ;) I'm new at this parenting thing, but I do try hard to do a decent job.

So you have two kids? That's great!

I am not a lawyer in real life, I just play one on tv.. or is the other way around?

That's cool. You're welcome to hang around me, if you so wish. I'll protect you from 4chan.~<3

I'm mentally a different person right now... Vincent is far to calm for my interneting needs. I should write his fanfictions on paper instead..

wow... i really got off on a tangent there... oops. :o

Oh come on, you know I prefer the hit-n-run tactic of questioning a topic. Must I offer full explanations of everything? You of all people should know that eventually I contradict my own reasoning, whir staying true to a reasoning that makes sense only to me.

But, since you took the time to type so much, may I clarify? The difference between exposure of young minds to diverse forms of education is admirable, but through the context of BabyEinstein the "exposure" becomes routine, therefore ineffective in its original purpose. Rather, the use of such products in addition to a foundation of various child-rearing techniques would be of most use to education. Dependence on a form of so-called "diverse" learning effectually nullifies its purpose.

Actually, i beg to differ... You really have to understand child physioligy and their learning style. Having something repeated ad nauseum is actually the best way for them to absorb things. I just wish it was more from parent-child interaction, than TV viewings, but the principle's the same.

There is gum under my chair. I am displeased, but still happy~<3

Although, Vincent is never happy. Therefore, I mustn't be happy.

I am not happy. I am angsty, and cold, and very, very lovelorn. Chaos willlllll love meeeeee...*Rubs temples*

Back to the write~<3
