I HATE Baby Einstein. You have no idea what that does to some kids. Granted, everything can be okay in moderation, but it's just too easy to have it as a babysitte:fork:

However, some parents seem to think of it as a crutch for parenthood. It makes one wonder about the effect it could potentially cause in later years.

Hmmmm Maybe it's something you should look into more someday. The Baby Einstein line is actually quite brilliant, from the challenging colors, to the thought stimulating books and puppets. They mix in childish fantasy with real world pictures to help children begin to establish the line between the two. Their products are great, I and several of my mom friends swear by them... I mean, people are going to entertain their children. Beit with stories, movies, toys, or anything else - children don't sit still.. they're contsantly moving and learning... why not help them on the road to learning? You of all people should understand that - your never ending thirst for knowledge should show you that the more books and information you present a child with the more they have the chance to learn. I don't require or force Liz to learn anything - but I certainly encourage her to. Just like I'm going to encourage her to take piano lessons next year and begin learning a second language shortly thereafter. Call it force feeding - but I find encouragement far better than the slack parenting role some take of whatever whenever let the school's handle it. That's just lazy parenting in my book.
