WDW Space Mountain is better than Disneyland's. Change my mind.

Which Space Mountain is better, WDW or DL?

I would say that Magic Kingdoms has the potential to be better than Disneyland's, but it would require a proper extensive possibly multi-year refurbishment to bring it into the 21st century like Disneyland got 20 years ago but of course we had to spend that money on more important things like turning Frontierland into Cars.

Only been on WDW's and DLP's but I think WDW is far better than DLP's. Despite the latter having inversions etc it just doesn't have the character of WDW's. I love the tunnel entrance in Orlando, it makes the whole mountain feel more special being on the outer edge of the park. In Paris you can walk around the entire mountain which for me personally makes it feel less special and appear far smaller. Whilst I do miss the moving walkway on the way out in Orlando, the whole attraction still feels so magical to me and the tunnel and the placing I think is a big part of that.

Like they were planning in 2009 (when "great recession" was taking full force and they were so desperate they granted free admission "no strings attached")?

Hands-down (at least to-date) WDW's Space Mountain building has always been the most impressive. About 300 meter diameter, suited to match the overall grandiose scale of all MK (compared to Disneyland's intimate scale). Ever since childhood I've seen it as the secondary icon of the park (and I don't see the other Space Mountains having a similar affect on their parks....not even Tokyo's when its completed.

I'm not complaining of the current format...but....to PLUS it....

Imo, they should completely gut the building (including the queue roofs). Replace 2 tracks with one smoooooth ride, but double the seating of the rockets (like DL's) to make up for halved capacity. On-board sound, 21st century projections...and MK can reclaim its dominance.

No matter how many years it takes. I'll wait.

One Space Mountain that hasn't been mentioned yet is Tokyo's. Not only does it have key features of pre-2005 Space Mountain, like the Speedramp entrance and the windows looking into the ride, but it overall has a dark, mysterious, unknown feel to it creating a chilling experience that makes it IMO one of the best Space Mountains on earth as of now.
Their's is closed, and I cannot wait to see what they do. Intamin looks like they're about to do something wild.

That moment when you're about to start a thread because of an off-topic conversation in another thread, and then you realize you already made the thread a year and a half ago.

By the way, MK's Space Mountain is better, I can now say with certainty, having ridden it this past summer for the first time since 2017!
Did they finally fix all the show quality issues in Orlando ?

I haven't been on Paris, but WDW for me every day. There's a level of jank to the WDW experience that overall enhances the experience. Plus the track layout is just better.

I rode it four times, and there was nothing that I noticed to detract from my experience, except for sitting in the third row. I swear there was a moment the train left the track and slammed me down. But rows 1, 2, & 4 I had a blast.

Edit to add: I was with my niece and nephew who had never been on it before, so that played a role in my enjoyment, too. I do feel like I would have noticed something atrociously bad though.
