They're really just putting the finishing touches on the outdoor areas now. Tangled is getting the last bits of theming added to its roof, Regal View getting there also with the lights and some last parts of theming and most of the rest is really close. Heck, we've seen they're adding benches to areas already too, if that doesn't say we're nearing the end I don't know what does...

A lot of speculation online about these tests in California, but from what some are saying, this is likely for the drone component of the new nighttime lagoon show:

Kind of curious as to why they would be testing the drones in California as I thought they worked with a French company for the drone shows in Paris.

I am also curious where the drones will be positioned for the DAW show. I guess behind the Frozen area? My understanding is that you couldn't really do a drone show in the round as they wouldn't look good from all angles.

This show may be fully designed and programmed by Imagineering, perhaps moving from using a third party? or just doing the design and testing in CA, then the show files are sent to the Paris team?

It depends how it's displayed. If relying on perspective to fake depth etc like a layered theatre backdrop then yes it wouldn't work from all angles. If you have lots of drones that can fly tight and accurate formation (which they appear to have) then you're able to make true 3D shapes and patterns that will look good from any angle like a 3D model.

This construction update on the Up swing ride from DLP Works also shows that scaffolding is down around the East pavilion (and Tangled too? Hard to tell from this angle)

Nov 24 is the media tour
