Not building in that area is one of them. This is the area that I’m assuming will remain clear. Obviously not exact or to scale. It is an issue with readily available solutions.

Then the project area is only about 11 acres, not 14 acres. Not building in that area is one of them. This is the area that I’m assuming will remain clear. Obviously not exact or to scale. View attachment 886609
With the fireworks fallout launch situation, what exactly is stopping them from just closing certain areas of Villains land before and after fireworks like they do for Toontown at DL or the back of the castle in Fantasyland? Not building in that area is one of them. Nothing - that would also be possible. With the fireworks fallout launch situation, what exactly is stopping them from just closing certain areas of Villains land before and after fireworks like they do for Toontown at DL or the back of the castle in Fantasyland?
Has it been advertised as 14? I can’t remember. Then the project area is only about 11 acres, not 14 acres.
I think the entire MK "expansion" was, which would be Cars and Villains Land I think the entire RoA was 14 acres?Has it been advertised as 14? I can’t remember.
In the 3 to 5 years this will take to build, I suspect scope cuts will happen so along the years will will probably get several new concepts.I wonder when we will get new concept art for this area...
Probably next D23I wonder when we will get new concept art for this area...
And the next D23 and the next D23 and so onProbably next D23
Worst part is, its the guests that will suffer with "scope cut" Cars and Villains lands
"scope cut", I like it, I will use that going forward.
Projects get "scope cut" because they realize they cant do what they wanted to do for the budget given, therefore they must "scope cut" to stay within the budget.
Wait till they are done scope cutting the cr@p out of Carsland and Villains land at the MK.
Scope cuts are normal, expected, and is the standard operating procedure for TWDC.
Translation. Carslsnd and villains land at the MK is gonna get scope cut to cr@p![]()
I wonder when they finally open the scope cut cars and villains stuff in MK will they blame COVID?
That’s true. Disney does not need an excuse for scope cuts. It’s standard operating procedure for todays Disney company.
After all, these are the Imagineers that will come up with the beautiful themed designs that will then be scope cut to s#it by the finance team.
After their beautiful themed designs have been scope cut to s#it, then they can go back to their office for their 2nd shower of the day like their big boss Iger.![]()
At this moment we have no idea what we will end up with as there is always a possibility of scope cuts.

Hey @Disstevefan1 do you think there is a chance that Piston Peak gets Scope cut?
I think there is a very strong possibilityHey @Disstevefan1 do you think there is a chance that Piston Peak gets Scope cut?
Seems a bit like preaching to the choir. We all know that concept art is almost always more ambitious than the final product.it is good to be reminded about the very real scope cuts...
It didn’t used to be. Everest, Cars Land, and Avatar all met or exceeded my expectations based on the art.We all know that concept art is almost always more ambitious than the final product.
I agree that some pieces of concept art deliver more than others, but I wouldn’t put it in terms of then vs. now. There are plenty of older projects that were “scope cut”.It didn’t used to be. Everest, Cars Land, and Avatar all met or exceeded my expectations based on the art.
People cite the potential increase in water (I say "potential" because it's an entirely different style of art) as the big change and why the fun map art buoyed expectations. Noteworthy to me, but not cited much, is that the fun map does not show any cars. Or balloon arches and flags and flatscreen TVs or other cheap, modern temporary racetrack decorations, as before. In the fun map everything is naturalistic and rustic wood and stone. People like that. If they build it that way people will probably like it.I also would point out the OG concept art for this project sucked and then the newer cartoony version was a lot better. With them seemingly trying to listen to our feedback (more water and trees). Personally concept art is a hit or miss thing when it comes to accuracy or looking better or worse. Especially if its for projects years off in the distance
