EPCOT Figment, well, to be replaced by Figment

I am sure many here recall the Little Golden Book released a couple of years ago titled ā€˜Figment’ that was a wonderful little tribute to the Original Attraction.
Know full well this book means a lot to one of Figment’s ā€˜Dads’ Tony Baxter.

Spent some time with him this past weekend, and he was reminiscing about that effort.
When he saw this book, and flipped through the pages for the very first time, it brought the man to tears.
He cried seeing this, a heartfelt tribute to something he worked so hard with his team to create and then tragically see destroyed.

But the legacy of this wonderful Attraction and the REAL Figment character live on in all of us.
And within this book.

Why this Pavillion remains untouched boggles his mind as well as ours.
When it is universally agree by so many that changes need to happen, it is so incredibly frustrating.

Members of the Tony Baxter Fan Club unite….changes NEED to happen.
All of this is right in front of them and because of politics it won’t.
Nothing will change until certain parties leave , retire, or drop.
May that day come soon.

Put this man on this project.

Again, they are more likely to make an animatronic figure of him now like they do with other people whose philosophy they like undermining.

He would not want a ā€˜last ride’ in the current version, thst I can assure you.

Just like most of us, he is perplexed as to why this Pavillon remains untouched after more the 20+ years.

He also agrees that it is an incredible loss for today’s children, who really NEED experiences like the former original Attraction.
Tony recently expressed concern that children today are in danger of never knowing who Figment REALLY is.

The character is meant to be so much more then just a cute thing to slap in merchandise….

A reminder as to why we need the Original spirit of the Imagination Pavillion back.
Befitting to be reminded for today, on October 1st.

Just look at all of those folks lined up to experience the best version.
Remember when the line to experience the original wonders of this Pavilion looked like this…?
I remember.

EPCOT Center’s second most popular Attraction, following closely behind Spaceship Earth.
And it stayed that way until devious sabotage …otherwise known as the ā€˜rope incident’.
You will never be forgiven for that act…ever….Disney.
😔

The desecration of this once wonderful place is the most tragic of stories related to WDW in its history.
The fact it has been left to literally decay away for the last 20+ years in its current form is all the more tragic.

They may have tried to erase the Original Pavilion’s legacy, but the legacy lives on within those of us who experienced it firsthand and clearly remember the impact the Original Attraction.
The Original message of personal empowerment, and how everyone can be creative in their own ways to change their world and ours as well.

And those who still remember this guy…a tip of the hat.

If you are at Epcot today, drink a toast to ol’ Dreamfinder.

Boggles my mind, they see the amount of Merch he moves... you'd think the no brainer think would be to rebuild it to the original spec (Well I'd also be okay with Kuka Arms...) and make a big media push.. Would drive epcot attendance for a good while.

Nah this is more of a stopgap to ensure SSE is in good enough shape to chug along in its current form for awhile.

Can't have that new lounge go without it's ride for too long. :p
So , pretty much what I expected. We still have to wait a bit for a (hopefully) non-insulting script and an actual ending to the attraction.

It's coming! Just give them until 2032 at the latest and it should be there!

Just gotta work on some things here and there.

Maybe next D23 will show how they wanna get ready for the 50th of Epcot...
