I did get to meet Jason Marsden (voice of Max in Goofy Movie) and he signed a piece of art, also was able to get the artist, Tim Robertson, to sign it as well
.... So personally this more than makes up for less news than hoping for

I'd tell it to you face too, if you want.

I've been to a lot of cons. Going to one hoping for a specific announcement(s) is begging for a bad time. What if they made some announcement that the crappy C-tier villain you love (and I know theres one) is 100% definitely not going to be in the land? Would you be okay with that because they announced something? No, you'd be upset there too.
Funny thing is I am not a Villians fan in the slightest. I am a Parks Fan. Again, not looking for anything major but a new piece of concept art, a name, or anything would have been better than the thing we got. COP news was great. Just wanted something of substance.

I remind all that tickets were bought in April/May and then they announced no parks panel just two weeks ago. Then it was “watch these 4 panels”. Either way you slice it we saw two slides of architecture pictures, some cruise stuff (cool) and some Bath & Body works stuff they want us to buy.

Parks were a let down this D23 where there didn’t even give us some detail scraps. I was t expecting much. Just something.

It’s not over yet, folks.
There may still be a lil’ surprise…..

But was many of us ( self included ) have been saying, the Destination D events are not typically where the Company announces anything major.
They wait until the mega D23 Expo in Anaheim to do that, with the world’s press watching and covering it to make the biggest impact possible.

The Destination D events have always been more of a ‘fan gathering’ and ‘celebration of Disney and its fans’ kind of thing.
It’s also from my personal experience just another ‘shopping mall experience’ where there is an overly heavy emphasis on ‘buying stuff’.
But there can be some cool displays….and other fun nuggets afoot.

So I hope some of you attending have found some of the elements you have experienced to be worth your time.
Part of the fun of going to such things is just seeing and interacting with other fans.
But yes, naturally it can feel disappointing when certain vloggers and ‘click baiters’ try to build it up to be something bigger then the event is actually intended to be.

That was nowhere near as painful as watching the people who own Lug bags. They sounded like they owned an Etsy store. And seriously, who wear these belted bags?

Yeah, some of the brand stuff is a bit much

I will say for Lug, some of them are nice and cute for people that want a smaller purse. I also appreciate they aren't crazy expensive like some brands

My wife picked up one (a more purse like) that came with a pack of character charm, tag, and strap (she got Stitch) - with the provided coupon it came to $47 total which isn't bad and we also got a free pin and luggage tag

For anyone who was there during the Down the Rabbit Hole segment with Walt Disney Archives, was anything shown for Tower of Terror? Still odd to me that they prohibited filming and photos for that panel.

That has genuinely taken forever.

We've pushed doing a return trip to Paris for years now because of waiting for this. We've planned to go to Tokyo and Hong Kong instead now so will see it there.
You will love Tokyo. Absolutely amazing. Disney Sea is like nothing else. Everything works. Cast members care. It’s like Disney World in the 90s just with unlimited creative budget.
