Rumor Potential New Magic Kingdom Area Hotel

Is there any reason that area couldn’t be used for park expansion? If the Moana ride is going near there, there’s just the canal in the way, right? I’d definitely prefer more MK over a hotel.

Well, one concept that I feel people have theorized is both expansion of MK to the west and a hotel - that could perhaps get to a situation where the hotel could be "on" the SSL and monorail but also get a direct entrance to the park in the new expanded area.

I don't necessarily think that's the plan but it seems conceivable.

A report on the recent JHMP says land is being surveyed next to the canal which was (previously) intended for Liberty Bell and Tom Sawyer raft maintenance. It was suggested this would make a good spot for a potential new hotel that could be connected to Magic Kingdom similar to Grand Helios.

There’s active construction going on for the new laydown yards, canal and ponds

I am sure they would love to do a Fantasy Springs scenario with another high end hotel and an exclusive area of the MK that is behind a paywall allowing them to literally more than double the daily admission...
plus ensure that hotel stay booked...

I'd pay for a new themed hotel, attached to MK. Grand Californian in DL is special in that sense, and I LOVE Helios with the attachment to Epic. Just have to make sure to book it EARLY when it comes available, as prices will only go up as years go by ha! NOW LETS HOPE IT HAPPENS.

I think one of the challenges of putting a hotel there is how you deal with the view into the MK backstage area.

The problem here is this is going to have to be a Hotel MiraCosta level of theming to make it work and I don't know they're gonna do that based on the Fantasy Springs Hotel.

I'd love to know what it cost to build MiraCosta and what it would cost with today's construction costs - it's my dream to go to TDL and stay at MiraCosta and the TDL Hotel.
You can have a Magic Kingdom Hotel in the same style as Fantasy Spring's Hotel however instead it be themed with Fantasy instead Adventure. I can't see them having a resort surpass Grand Floridian to the depths of Hotel MiraCosta unless they were that desperate. Helios not being Portofino Bay would only hurt Disney more from a regular income family population if the park only housed an in park connected Hotel that costs at least 900-$1,000 per night!
