Frozen at this park really loses something by not being surrounded by the natural mountains like in HKDL.

They do so much to make the area feel larger than it really is and sell the idea that you are in Arendelle and not just looking at a man made attraction
The same can be said for all of HKDL. It’s in an unbeatable location. But won’t let thst take away from the enjoyment of the Paris version

I was honestly disappointed with the HKDL Arendelle which did get me a bit concerned about Paris. I thought the land felt so small and cramped, the floor space of the land felt only marginally bigger than the plaza in front of Frozen Ever After at Epcot. Out of all the four mini-lands outside the berm it was the one that felt least like a 'land' to me and more like an extension of Fantasyland.

I am personally hoping having the land open onto Adventure Bay helps with this, I also believe the Arendelle shop fronts are angled differently at Paris which will make it feel more open as well.

I don't think I would say I was disappointed with it, but it was smaller than I was expecting. From the looks of it, the land is extended a little around the lake in Paris which is a positive as it is... brave of them to hang the lake extension on this one-attraction land

I think this is the biggest advantage the Paris version has over the other Frozen lands. The scale of Adventure Bay itself and having it connect to the body of water in the land will really help sell the illusion that Arendelle is a real, functioning port.

Hopefully when they get around to adding a 3rd land to the lake area it will have more than one ride

The biggest problem is the perception they’re actually “lands”. They’re just single attractions with a big outside bit.

Very true. I’d mostly blame DLP for creating that perception. When people hear “themed land”, they naturally expect something on the scale of the lands in Disneyland Park - multiple attractions, restaurants, shops and maybe even a show. Basically this is what Universal is offering for each of the new areas in Epic.

Calling it World of Frozen” might fit better with the new Disney Adventure World branding, but it doesn’t help manage guest expectations either. Adding a Frozen-themed carnival-style ride - rather than placing unrelated ones along Adventure Way - and an interactive kids’ play area (e.g. themed around the trolls or the Enchanted Forest) could go a long way in making it feel more complete.

That’s a great idea. And it’s something they could do, even after Arendelle is opened. I assume they could use space on either side of the “land” - if they added a play area between Frozen and LK it could even offer glimpses of the savannah …. And tbh it doesn’t need to have many interactive elements, just a climb and slide playground with some kind of theming. Just something for kids to play and adults to meander or sit.

"this one-attraction land"- What a wasted potential. I'm sure what's there will be beautiful though.
We can all thank Bob and his henchmen for ruining what a "land" has become under their watch. One ride is plenty, and two rides is more than enough, as long as there are plenty of merch and food options available for revenue generation.

I accidentally clicked on page 1 and realised it was 2018 this was first announced.

8 years for a clone. Pandemic aside, that’s actual insanity.

In that time Universal have knocked up Velocicoaster, Hagrids, and an entire new park in Florida.

Universal GB, widely discussed in 2024 is expected to open in 2031, a year less than this timeframe.

Inexcusable from Disney really.

The original target was 2024 -for Avengers Campus, Arendelle and Galaxy’s Edge. Even that seemed far off when it was announced.

At some point, I think during the Pandemic, the whole expansion went back to the drawing board, when GE (lite) was axed and eventually replaced by LK.

I’m not sure how much, if any, work happened in the lake area during that re-think.

Construction on the lake and Frozen (Phase 2) only really began in 2022, once Avengers Campus (Phase 1) was finished. I don't think many changes were made then unless if the Adventure Way flat rides changed (the original concept art showed Alien Swirling Saucers where Tangled is now). 4 years is still a long time, but it makes sense why they didn't begin construction on Frozen in 2018
