It's clearly a choice that gives them something to market in 2027 as the 'continuing expansion of DAW ahead of Lion King currently under construction.'

And 4 years for LK seems like a long time given that the rest of the park will be open in a year’s time. Unless it means they’ll also be working elsewhere during the same time.

Likewise 2027/28 are anniversary years for the resort so will be entertainment heavy which concludes into the strong Halloween/Christmas seasons in 2028 so April 2029 is a logical timeframe from a marketing perspective.

Just spotted an update on the French forum Disney Central Plaza from user Disneyland Magic, who shared info from an internal meeting where targeted opening dates were reportedly confirmed:

• Frozen: Official opening in April 2026.
  The previously expected soft opening at the end of 2025 has been pushed to early 2026.
  The nighttime show is now set to debut with the official opening.
  
  
• Disney Adventure World Parade: Launching Summer 2026.
  
  
• “Up” Flying Chairs: Scheduled for 2027.
  
  
• Lion King-themed land: Targeted for 2029.

2026 - Major Disney Adventure World Opening, DAW Nighttime Spectacular
2027 - Resort wide 35th anniversary, Up flat ride opening, new entertainment, new parade for PDL (possibly)
2028 - 35th extension, new entertainment?, new PDL or DAW parade debuts?
2029 - Lion King Opening

The weakest of the lineup appears to be 2028, I could see them somewhat split the anniversary novelties between the two years to make up for that, either a new parade in 2027 for PDL and one for DAW the following year or just one new parade for PDL in either of the years. There have also been other rumors from said meeting including a Moana interactive show replacing Frozen in Animation Celebration, I could see this being a part of the 35th anniversary too.

It's honestly quite overwhelming and almost unbelievable for DLP to have such a strong and logical 5 year plan. Plus it is quite typical for DLP to throw in something unexpected either from an entertainment point of view or a significant refurbishment and plussing.

And in the grand scheme of things it's all the better for it... I do want PDL to get an expansion but I just pray when they decide on something it is a) an actual expansion and b) thematically appropriate.

I agree, even a small spinner like Moana one in Adventureland or a small flat ride in the style of Matters would go a long way.

Shout out to Toy Story Parachute Drop, the ride that's been doing the literal heavy lifting of fan construction documentation for over 10 years now.

I remember riding it to see Ratatouille being built in 2013, and since then it's provided hundreds of Twitter posts.

A terrible ride that has no business being in a Disney quality park, but has been a great resource none the less.
