In honor of Nissan Frontierland being good actually maybe, what is the theme park project you thought would absolutely suck but ended up being pretty solid?

The Country Bear Musical Jamboree stands out to me as an overall positive and while I wouldn’t say it’s better than the original, I think most of that is nostalgia because the animatronics are improved, the way they integrated the music is solid, and it still retains the old Country Bear charm.
Well, as a young lass I was sad when World of Motion closed. But, spicy take incoming, Test Track is pretty good.

Signups begin today with the combination a month away leaving plenty of time for people to sign up as well as participate in the One Sentence Competition currently ongoing to test or hone your skills. This will be an elimination game but spots are fluid due to the (soon to be announced) elimination style.
You know if there's a spot still available, it would be nice to win something after a decade of dusty accolades ;)

Question of the Day

In honor of another scrapped prompt where players would have designed a replacement for Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit at Universal Orlando and in honor of the ongoing OSC where players pitch a new coaster:

What is your favorite coaster you’ve been on? It doesn’t have to be the fastest, the wildest, etc. just the one you like the most.

For me, as a non coaster person (I much prefer a Living with the Land or a PeopleMover) I absolutely adored Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind and did it like 4 times on my last trip. Other than that, I was a big fan of Mako at SeaWorld Orlando as well. I haven’t been to IOA since the opening of Hagrid or VelociCoaster so I cannot factor them in.

I don’t like coasters because the Dahlonega Mine Train at Six Flags Over Georgia traumatized me!

This is an odd toss up between BTM (DL or WDW) and Velocicoaster for me (though if you tell me i can ride Hagrids at night I may have a conundrum). Ultimately though I probably have to go with BTM. It's maybe the ultimate set design for any coaster and the track itself has plenty of solid coaster elements.

Nothing else quite like Velocicoaster, but the incredibly dated falling apart held together by ductape with aging effects vibe of WDW Space Mountain is something special that is unlikely to ever be replicated. Newer rides are definitely 100% better, but there's an irreplaceable charm that comes from such a simple coaster with such tight turns and such a high degree of freedom

Cosmic Rewind. I think the rotating ride tech was pretty cool and added another layer of thrills to the coaster; I like the varied soundtrack; and I am a huge fan of the Guardians of the Galaxy trilogy.

Definitely signing up for one more game before I start making my own personal projects in the future.

Also, @PerGron, I kinda have been dealing with a big issue over on YouTube that’s getting on nerves, & I really want to talk it out with someone. Do you mind if I share my issue with you?

I'm gonna have to agree with you on the Country Bear Musical Jamboree. I was expecting it to be cringe-worthy but they actually managed to make it work.

I'm not a huge roller coaster fan either, but I think I'd have to go with Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. It's thrilling, but not too intense.

The Flying Dinosaur at Universal Japan. It’s almost worth the trip to USJ alone. By far the most intense flying coaster.

I can marathon BTMRR, Pirates, and Mansion over and over again and never get tired of them.

But, I’m with you on Living With The Land of course 🩷

Tatsu at Six Flags Magic Mountain was an otherworldly experience for me. I'm a religion teacher by trade, and I use it in class as one of the proofs of God's existence. It's an incredible experience.

Tatsu and Flying Dinosaur are both incredible flying coasters. Tatsu has that majestic aerial first half, godlike as you suggest, while Flying Dinosaur is like Tatsu’s ferociously intense pretzel loop expanded into an entire coaster layout - I had no idea what was going on with that one while on-ride.

Jokers, have you done Hakugei?

No, but it’s been on the list for a while. It’s probably my most anticipated coaster in Japan. I’m not sure how much longer I’m going to be in Japan, but I definitely want to do a coaster pilgrimage before I leave.

Unfortunately all of the coasters are on the opposite end of the country for me so it’s been difficult to make the trip.
